Credt Risk manages the systems that facilitate the business of Credit Risk Management and Advisory (CRMA), the team that is responsible for sales and counterparty credit risk management and rating agency advisory for investment banking partners. Maintains a scenario stress testing engine that is used in a variety of risk and capital calculations as well as applications to allow for the effective risk management of firm counterparties.

 

YOUR IMPACT

 

The Liquidity Risk Technology (LRT) team is seeking a candidate interested in thoughtful development of enhanced capabilities for Liquidity risk management and analytics, planning, & reporting.


Our team leverages the latest technology across GS and the wider industry, and couples these with our deep functional expertise in liquidity risk, to deliver applications that are used across the Firm to assess and consider liquidity impact on our business. These applications include, for example, LCR, 5G, EBA, ALM, Projections, analytics and controls & workflow management. This position provides a unique opportunity to gain subject matter expertise in both technology and finance, and to directly engage with colleagues and senior management from across the business, risk, finance, and technology.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

JOB SUMMARY & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Understand liquidity implications and translate these considerations to architect intelligent applications that help to make the analysis of liquidity impact more accurate, transparent, and timely. 
  • Analysing and defining requirements to challenging business problems 
  • Formulating and developing innovative and fault-tolerant technical solutions while helping to deliver them in a timely manner to meet frequently tight business deadlines. 
  • Enhancing current systems to meet the growing business volumes and demands. 
  • Monitoring performance and failure rates to recommend and engineer cost-effective solutions where needed. 
  • Having exposure to all stages of the software development cycle with a range of technologies (standard and proprietary). 
  • Partner with the rest of the Technology and Strats organization to leverage our deep technical intellectual property and products from across the Firm to enhance control while also delivering best-of-breed commercial-quality enterprise applications for purpose of liqudity measurement and analytics. 
  • Directly interface with the Business and our Federation partners in Finance and Risk. 
  • People Management; Nurture the next generation of architects through mentoring both within the team and more broadly in the firm

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3+ years of work experience 
  • Strong interest in developing and delivering commercial-level solutions in rapid cycles. 
  • Working knowledge of Unix/Linux operating systems. 
  • Excellent academic background in quantitative fields Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Physics and Statistics. 
  • Strong in application development concepts including distributed computing, design patterns, middleware, Framework development and performance optimization. 
  • Extensive Relational database design experience (e.g. Sybase/IQ/DB2) 
  • Excellent interpersonal/communication skills, both written and verbal. 
  • Good user requirements analysis skills and the ability to build strong user relationships

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Knowledge of liquidity metrics is a plus. 
  • Experience in Big data platforms is a plus (e.g. Hadoop, Spark, MongoDb). 
  • Enjoys R&D and comfortable with working in highly dynamic and rapid development environment.
