Our division works on some of the most complex financial challenges and transactions in the market today. Whether advising on a merger, providing financial solutions for an acquisition, or structuring an initial public offering, we handle projects that help clients at major milestones. IBD Risk Strats are responsible for the mathematical and technological foundations of the Investment Banking division's risk management efforts. This includes development and improvements of mathematical pricing models of various financial instruments and structured deals, as well as associated analytics and reporting to the senior management of the Firm. The function is critical for assessing and managing the financial risk that the division takes on as part of its lending, underwriting, securitization and principal investments businesses.  This is essential in order for senior management to make appropriate risk mitigating decisions, as well as for mandatory regulatory reporting. We are looking for an analyst/associate to join our team in New York.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Implement and enhance mathematical models of financial instruments and transactions used for pricing and risk calculations.
  • Assess model requirements for new deal activities
  • Provide quantitative analysis in support of business decisions
  • Design and develop risk management platforms for the division

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Academic background in a mathematical field, such as engineering, computer science, mathematics or physics.
  • Meaningful work experience and interest in coding in an OOPL like C++, Java, or Python
  • Strong analytical and problem solving abilities
  • Knowledge of financial mathematics, including pricing of fixed income instruments and options.
  • Excellent team working and communication skills
