GLOBAL COMPLIANCE

Our division prevents, detects and mitigates compliance, regulatory and reputational risk across the firm and helps to strengthen the firm’s culture of compliance. Compliance accomplishes these through the firm’s enterprise-wide compliance risk management program. As an independent control function and part of the firm’s second line of defense, Compliance assesses the firm’s compliance, regulatory and reputational risk; monitors for compliance with new or amended laws, rules and regulations; designs and implements controls, policies, procedures and training; conducts independent testing; investigates, surveils and monitors for compliance risks and breaches; and leads the firm’s responses to regulatory examinations, audits and inquiries. You'll be part of a team with members from a wide range of academic and professional backgrounds, such as law, accounting, sales, and trading. RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

JOB SUMMARY & RESPONSIBILITIES

The strategic technology initiatives team within Global Compliance’s Regulatory Practice Group (“RPG”) is responsible for defining the strategy for various regulatory applications that are deployed throughout Goldman Sachs. Specifically, these applications facilitate firm processes associated with rule and regulation change management, regulatory exams, audits and inquiries, risk assessments and issue management.

This position will support the tracking and reporting necessary to oversee the development and enhancement of the portfolio of applications managed by RPG. In addition to fulfilling the responsibilities described below, the successful candidate will develop project management skills and a detailed understanding of the RPG application portfolio, which makes up a large portion of Compliance’s technology landscape.  

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Leverage firm tools (e.g., JIRA, projito) to stay abreast of emerging and upcoming issues or milestones
  • Interact with key constituents in Technology and the wider RPG team globally to understand progress towards technology project milestones
  • Escalate issues and delays to RPG strategic technology initiatives team management
  • Document ongoing progress toward technology project milestones; ensure firm tools are leveraged where appropriate
  • Facilitate regular reporting of technology project milestones for RPG senior management
  • Maintain the RPG technology budget

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Basic knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle concepts
  • Basic knowledge of Excel
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet deadlines
  • Exceptional judgment skills – ability to identify and effectively escalate potential issues
