The Risk division is responsible for credit, market and operational risk, model risk, independent liquidity risk, and insurance throughout the firm.




The Credit Risk Review Group (CRRG) within RVG complements the Firm’s independent risk-management infrastructure through periodic examination and ongoing monitoring of the quality of the loan and derivative portfolio of the Credit Risk Management (CRM). CRRG also validates and tests many of CRM’s processes, methodologies and models. The group reports to the Chief Risk Officer (CRO) and its function is independent of CRM’s credit management processes.




We are currently seeking an outstanding candidate responsible for providing timely and effective review and challenge to retail credit portfolios, including but not limited to residential mortgages, consumer loans and student loans. The candidate will support CRRG leaders and lead team members in performing independent risk assessments of the quality of risk management for retail credit exposure.




The CRRG Associate will be part of a dynamic team responsible for providing objective assessments on the quality of retail credit risk management. The team’s specific responsibilities include ensuring that there is timely recognition of any potential weaknesses in the retail credit portfolio, monitoring adherence to policies and procedures, and challenging underwriting criteria.


Credit-related services include the following:

  • Develop and execute annual Retail Credit Risk Review plan and continuous monitoring program
  • Assessing the level of credit risk and the quality of credit risk management practices
  • Identify potential credit risks and assess the impact of those risks
  • Ensure reviews and portfolio monitoring are completed within established timelines and in accordance with CRRG policies.
  • Produce qualitative analysis and qualitative commentaries for CRMA, Firm and Bank management
  • Participate in ad-hoc and special projects, as applicable.


  • Bachelor’s degree and 4+ years of work experience in retail credit review, retail credit analysis, credit scoring and/or retail credit research
  • Experience with retail credit/loan review or internal audit processes
  • Knowledge of retail credit regulations and guidance
  • Functional background or relevant experience in finance and accounting
  • Knowledge of retail lending products, with knowledge of wholesale lending and capital markets/traded products a plus
  • Understanding of credit/loan documentation
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple assignments concurrently
  • Highly motivated with strong academic background
  • Strong analytical, project management and communication skills; familiarity with coincident, lagged and vintage analyses; credit score distributions and portfolio segmentation analysis; credit loss forecasting; allowance for loan and lease losses and charge-off processes
  • Ability to work independently within a team structure
  • Flexibility, ability to learn quickly
