Work Schedule: 40 hours per week (9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.)
Duties: Associate-Finance with Goldman Sachs & Co. LLC in New York, NY. Review financial reports and statements, budgets and forecasts and other financial information, systems of internal controls and procedures, auditing, accounting and financial reporting processes, including as member of portfolio company Audit Committee and including for portfolio companies with public securities. Assist portfolio companies in evaluating and executing changes to their capital structures. Assist portfolio companies in the evaluation, due diligence, and financing structure of acquisition and divestiture activity. Lead sourcing of investment opportunities through attendance at conferences, interactions with other internal and external advisors and meetings with executives across industrials and natural resource industries. Evaluate risks of investment opportunities across sectors including industrials and natural resource industries. Recommend debt and equity investments to seasoned Investment Committee. Supervise production of presentation materials for Investment Committee discussions. Negotiate terms and structures of debt and equity investments. Manage and supervise finance professionals (Program Associates, Analysts) in conducting financial analysis for investment decisions and portfolio company management.
Job Requirements: Bachelor’s degree (U.S. or equivalent) in a quantitative field such as Finance, Mathematics, Engineering. Three (3) years of experience in the job offered or in a related finance or private equity position. Prior work experience must include: Analyzing, evaluating and executing natural resources and energy related investments in the upstream, midstream, and oilfield services sectors; Analyzing public disclosures of upstream, midstream and oilfield services companies; Developing fully integrated upstream corporate cash flow models based on asset level development plans and single well economics, including an understanding of well productivity and key upstream financial drivers; Conducting due diligence and in-depth valuation in the upstream and midstream sector, including familiarity with typical contract structures and industry terminology; Negotiating natural resources specific financing instruments (e.g. Reserve Based Loans, Volumetric Production Payments); Interacting closely with C-level executives at large cap companies (enterprise value of $500 million and more); Negotiating Limited Liability Corporation documents and other associated corporate documentation; Coordinating fast paced investment processes directly with external parties including investment bankers, company management teams, and other private equity firms. Travel required.
