Work Schedule: 40 hours per week (9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.)
Duties: Associate with Goldman Sachs & Co. LLC in Salt Lake City, UT. Analyze a portfolio of counterparties in the natural resources and consumer retail/healthcare industries, and recommend internal credit ratings on all portfolio counterparties; this includes providing detailed write-up on the counterparties' credit qualities, such as financial performance, industry trends and outlook, liquidity and cash flow analysis, and capital structure breakdown. Complete Leveraged Lending reviews on portfolio of counterparties that are designated with leveraged loans; Leveraged Lending primarily consist of analyses of the counterparties' historical cash flow generation and leverage (debt/EBITDA) trends, creating/assessing seven year cash flow projections to determine the counterparties' ability to amortize debt, and creating cash flow projections to calculate the counterparties' collateral valuation through Discounting Cash Flow (DCF) method. Analyze all credit facilities of the portfolio counterparties and recommend Regulator Risk Ratings by considering the cash flow projections used in the Leveraged Lending Reviews to evaluate the counterparties’ debt repayment capacity on their specific credit facilities. Present findings from credit rating analysis, Regulatory Risk Rating analysis, and Leveraged Lending reviews to senior management. Engage in daily surveillance of portfolio counterparties on any material events, including but not limited to: public rating changes, merger and acquisition transactions, financial reporting, and debt issuances and provide guidance, as needed, on the impact of any material events to the counterparties' credit ratings. Participate in semi-annual Regulator Risk Rating audit performed by the Federal Reserve's Shared National Credit program by performing extensive research on the selected counterparty, including detailed financial projection, comprehensive credit analysis write-up, and making recommendation of Regulatory Risk Rating, with detailed rating rationale. Provide both industry specific training and review process training to new hires and juniors.
Job Requirements: Bachelor’s degree (U.S. or equivalent) in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field. Three (3) years of experience in the job offered or in a related role. Must have three (3) years of experience with: performing credit analysis, including financial and business profile analysis of Natural Resource and Consumer Retail/Healthcare companies; derivatives, loans and other products that give rise to credit risk to institutional counterparties; fundamental financial statement analysis; Leveraged Lending counterparty analysis; analyzing and assigning Regulatory Risk Ratings; Accounting/Finance, including, but not limited to, experience with financial reporting, accounting methods, and creating projections based on historical financials; working with Excel, including but not limited to building financial models using formals and macro, and performing data analysis; working with/understanding major rating agency methodologies, including Moody's, S&P, and Fitch; performing credit analysis for semi-annual Shared National Credit audit; analyzing and interpreting credit documents, such as bank loan Credit Agreements and bank loan Compliance Certificates; CapIQ, used for market research and financial analysis.
