Work Schedule: 40 hours per week (9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.)


Duties:  Associate with Goldman Sachs Services LLC in New York, NY. Responsible for functional analysis of and subsequent development, maintenance and technical support of systems that support the Securities Division’s Credit, Municipal, Mortgage and New Markets’ trade capture and straight-through-processing (STP) needs. Responsible for functional analysis of and subsequent development, maintenance, and technical support of market-making systems used by the Securities Division’s money market desks that originate and make markets in commercial paper and certificate of deposit products. Debug, develop and maintain the above-referenced systems written in C++, Java, Sybase and the Firm’s proprietary risk management system. Engage in the entire software development lifecycle, including interacting with end-users to elicit requirements and converting requirements into technical solutions and interacting with end-users to resolve support issues. Must be willing to work with proprietary technologies; no knowledge of proprietary technologies is required pre-hire.


Job Requirements: Bachelor’s degree (US or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Information Technology or a related field. Three (3) years of experience in the job offered or a related role. Must have three (3) years of experience with: compiled object-oriented language (such as C++ or Java), including an understanding of advanced topics including multi-threading environment, JDBC, Reflections, Generics and Collection framework; ANSI SQL, stored procedures and Sybase or similar relational database engine; Inter-process communications using brokered or non-brokered messaging products/technologies (such as TCP/IP, TIBCO Rendezvous, TIBCO EMS (JMS)); working with fixed income securities; and working across the full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), including direct end-user interaction to translate requirements into design, defining test scenarios and engaging in development.
