The Marcus – Surveillance Analytics Mission:  Deliver a platform which identifies/prioritizes actionable security and fraud risks which have a tangible business impact.

 

Goldman Sachs has entered the Consumer Finance business with an online consumer lending business called Marcus by Goldman Sachs. The team is building a Security, Privacy Trust and Technology Risk engineering team which will help build a secure platform from the ground up that puts consumers first. The firm believes that this team will become a key competitive advantage of the business and is making a significant investment. 

You will work alongside industry leading technologists from who have recently joined Goldman from across consumer security, technology, fintech, finance and quant firms. 

The role has a broad scope which will involve interacting with senior leaders of Goldman and the Consumer business on a regular basis. The position is hands-on and requires a driven and “take ownership” oriented individual who is intently focused on execution. You will work directly with developers, business leaders, vendors and partners in order to deliver security assets to the consumer business. 

RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

Responsibilities:  

  • Create analytics which output actionable security and fraud events and identifies risks
  • Work closely with Firmwide Firmwide Security Incident Response Team (SIRT) team on incident response
  • Create dashboards/query layers (graph) for SIRT/fraud teams
  • Automate prioritization of incident response queue and help build a feedback loop to drive down false positives
  • Build upon a flexible data warehouse for real-time analytics
  • Prototypes of “what if scenarios” –if we turned on control X, Y users impacted and would solve for Z risks

Basic Qualifications:

  • Hadoop/Spark, Splunk, R, Python/Perl, Unix, SQL, data modeling/log parsing
  • Self-motivation and the ability to work independently
  • 3-4 years relevant security or analytics experience
  • Strong presentation skills and analytical, quantitative, and technical abilities
  • Ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of information security principles and understand the operational aspects of information security in large enterprises
  • Experience with consumer antifraud and authentication security technologies

Useful, but not required: machine learning, visualization tools (Tableau/D3), Java
