The Realty Management Division (RMD) plays an integral role in supporting the firm’s real estate investing strategy by providing investment and asset management services globally in the real estate market, partnering with other divisions in the firm to deliver results wherever Goldman Sachs has an interest. RMD serves as an extension to revenue divisions by providing services such as sourcing, acquisition, underwriting and due diligence of distressed and performing real estate and loan assets, asset management, portfolio management and disposition across various property types including office, multi-family, retail and hotel. Our division also manages residential loan portfolios and warehouse repo lines across auto, student, and consumer asset classes while providing structure, pricing and collateral analysis support. Job Summary:


The Risk/Control Analyst will assist Realty Management Division (RMD) senior management with cross functional risk management initiatives and projects that impact multiple risk disciplines and/or business units. The analyst role will specifically assist with operational risk assessment, Sarbanes Oxley compliance, facilitation of internal audit inquiries and reviews, data protection and technology operations risk, contingent worker strategy and management, business continuity and pandemic planning, vendor management, and other ad-hoc requests and special projects.


Principal duties and responsibilities include:

  • Provide support to division for operational risk assessment structure (RCSA) and work with the business and Operational Risk Management & Analysis (ORMA) on the reporting and remediation of operational risk events
  • Responsible for activities in support of the division's Sarbanes Oxley compliance
  • Assist Data Protection Manager/Technology Operations Risk Manager with data protection, technology governance, quarterly incident response drills, and Model Control/UDA inventory, assessment and certification process.
  • Ensure adherence to firmwide contingent worker policy and procedures and act as liaison to HCM, Vendor Management, Compliance, Legal and Technology Risk
  • Support divisional management with business continuity and pandemic planning including project management of Dallas Business Resilience Council initiatives and working with practitioner groups to develop and  implement plans
  • Update divisional policies/procedures; ensure divisional and firmwide guidelines are followed
  • Support the Divisional Vendor Management Team on vendor management responsibilities and initiatives, provide updates to RMD management and prepare quarterly reporting to management
  • Aid members of the Management and Strategy team on special projects and initiatives involving internal controls and risk assessments and sustain risk governance processes.

  • Proficient with the suite of Microsoft Office software
  • Possess a Bachelor's Degree

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A minimum of one year experience with exposure to enterprise risk management, operational risk compliance or internal audit. Prior experience demonstrating an understanding of internal controls and analytical abilities is desired
  • Proven track record in stakeholder management including exposure to senior stakeholders
