    The Platform Development Team within GSAM’s Americas Client Business is responsible for advancing commercial opportunities and deepening relationships across a diverse set of financial intermediaries that include wealth management firms, asset managers, DC/DB platforms and consultants, outsourced CIOs and FinTech providers. The team is focused on marketing GSAM’s full suite of investment strategies and vehicles to those intermediaries for placement within their discretionary portfolios and recommended lists.


    We work closely with investment professionals who manage discretionary portfolios, recommended lists, and provide asset allocation guidance. Our main responsibility is to understand their investment needs, consult on appropriate GSAM investment solutions and shepherd final stages of the sales process. Beyond providing investment solutions, the team deepens relationships with clients by delivering best-in-class client service, valuable market insights and unique advisory services.




    We are seeking a hardworking, detailed-oriented Analyst/Associate to partner with a senior business development professional. The candidate’s primary responsibility is to support all sales and client service activities across a diverse set of strategically important clients and prospects. The candidate will also be expected over time to lead the development of their own accounts and contribute to the broader Platform Development team.

    • Work closely with a senior business development professional to develop and execute on strategies aimed at retaining assets and winning new mandates/placements with financial intermediary clients and prospects
    • Collaborate with GSAM stakeholders including Portfolio Management, Product Strategy, Communications, Legal and Compliance, Sales Management and National Accounts
    • Manage the fulfillment and delivery of periodic client deliverables along with developing  marketing resources aimed at promoting GSAM’s investment insights and investment solutions
    • Support meeting coordination which includes scheduling, meeting preparation and follow up
    • Serve as a day-to-day contact for clients and manage ad hoc inquiries/requests in a timely manner
    • Organize and maintain client information, internal analysis, internal reporting requirements and client deliverable tracking
    • Develop strong knowledge of focus clients, retail and institutional distribution, GSAM’s platform of investment strategies/structures and GSAM’s investment themes
    • Communicate GSAM’s insights and investment solutions along with occasionally attending client meetings and conferences (limited travel required)
    • Contribute to the Platform Development team by sharing relevant updates, supporting business projects and acting as an internal advocate for the business




    Basic Qualifications:

    • 3 to 5 years of experience working in investment management sales and/or relationship management
    • Experience working with investment professionals at intermediary or institutional clients
    • Experience marketing equity, fixed income and/or alternative investment strategies
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills
    • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
    • Commercially minded with strong business judgement
    • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
    • Ability to work effectively within a team environment and willingness to “pitch in” when needed
    • Ability to multi-task under tight deadlines and maintain both composure and focus under pressure
    • Attention to detail with a sense of urgency
    • Ability to prioritize and manage tasks with autonomy
    • Ability to take initiative and be proactive
    • Willingness to travel occasionally if needed
    • Genuine passion for investments and working with institutional clients
    • Series 7 and 63 licenses

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • CFA designation or MBA or equivalent advance degree (or progress towards) is a plus
