The Enterprise Data Strategy team has an opportunity for highly motivated individuals who love problem solving. You will have the opportunity to work with multiple Business Units across Enterprise Ops, partner with Engineering and other Sub-divs, learn new business domains, and develop new technical skill sets.

     

    OUR IMPACT
    The Enterprise Data Strategy team within Enterprise Operations enables commercial opportunities and enhances client experience by driving front to back strategy around data production and consumption through a team of Data and Architecture specialists. Our technical analysts help drive foundational initiatives (e.g. Data Architecture, Data Lake, Data Governance) across multiple data domains (client, reference, transactional), perform complex data analysis (sourcing and transforming data) to accelerate commercial opportunities, and implement standards and governance for data production and usage. The EDS team is comprised of SMEs/Data Architects and technical specialists who are expected to learn quickly, to efficiently manage time and priorities, to be able to effectively navigate the organization, to drive change and ultimately bring initiatives to completion within budget and with minimal risk to the organization. The role will require extensive coordination and interaction with various Operations teams, Engineering, Compliance, Legal and other teams across the firm.

    RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

    HOW YOU WILL FULFILL YOUR POTENTIAL

    • Data Governance – you will be test and implement new capabilities and skills with respect to data/metadata management, data quality, and data lineage which will enable Enterprise Operations and the firm to advance Data Maturity in support of business objectives and data strategy
    • Partner with Operations and Engineering partners to ensure data requirements standards are designed, understood, and implemented support the uplift of Data Maturity
    • Develop support plans for operations data sourcing and modeling efforts, and participate in the evaluation of new tools to accelerate efforts
    • Participate in defining data governance policies and quality measurement standards.
    • Create solution prototypes using your skills in SQL, Alteryx, R, Python, jQuery
    • Provide expertise in data modeling and architecture
    • Provide data analysis support for Business Unit SMEs for initiatives that involve new data sourcing to ensure alignment with Enterprise Ops strategy

    SKILLS & EXPERIENCE WE’RE LOOKING FOR
    Basic Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 3+ years of professional experience
    • Exceptional problem-solving skills to analyze, connect the dots, and solve complex data problems
    • Experience in analyzing disparate data sets and using large scale querying and aggregation techniques like SQL, R, Python, and Alteryx etc
    • Basic knowledge/interest in learning computer programming fundamentals including Object Oriented Programming and Relational databases
    • A proactive self-starter, able to manage own time, priorities and independently identify and complete tasks
    • Strong written and oral communication and interpersonal skills, ability to influence others
    • Strong delivery focus with a proven track record of achieving results and demonstrating proficiency in managing multiple competing tasks on a daily basis
    • Ability to work quickly and under tight delivery deadlines with a strong attention to details

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Quantitative educational background like Finance, Computer Science or Engineering (or related discipline
    • Basic understanding of data modelling with Erwin or similar tool (PURE modelling knowledge is a plus)
    • Database administration and use of PostreSQL and/or MySQL
