    RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

    MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS/DEGREE AND FIELD:

    • Bachelor’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Information Technology, Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.

    MINIMUM YEARS EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

    • 3-5 years of experience in a Backup Administrator role

    Skills:

    • Experience in medium to large IT infrastructure across multiple datacenters
    • Good understanding of enterprise level change, incident, and problem management processes
    • Effective communication, analytical, and troubleshooting skills
    • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work well on a global team with 24/7 shift coverage
    • Experience supporting one or more of the following in a large environment: EMC Networker, EMC Data Domain, EMC Avamar
    • Tape backup data restore using EMC Networker
    • Familiarity with AutoSys / job scheduling is a plus
    • Familiarity with disk backup/tape backup audit controls is a plus

     

    Responsibilities:

    • Troubleshoot and remediate backup failures on EMC Networker, EMC Data Domain
    • Monitor ticket queue and email to resolve backup failure issues
    • Troubleshoot disk backup and tape backup failures to determine root cause of failure
    • Take ownership of issues to see them through to resolution
    • Work with platform vendors to pursue issue resolution when necessary

     

    Additional Info:

    • Schedule flexibility is required
    • Weekend work is required
    • Experience in Investment Banking sector is a plus
