    RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

    GS SUSTAIN strives to identify long-term high quality investment ideas with persistent high returns on capital, access to growth, durable competitive advantage and engagement with key ESG issues.

     

    Working closely with the Senior Analyst and other members of the global GS SUSTAIN research team, the goal of the Associate is to:

    • Build strong industry knowledge of corporate ESG risks and opportunities
    • Contribute to the generation and execution of investment ideas
    • Write reports/notes on key long-term investment themes
    • Communicate with the equities sales force and traders, clients and company managements
    • Interpret data and perform analysis on market, economic and ESG trends

     

    Basic Qualifications

    • Excellent analytical skills
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Proficiency in Excel
    • Attention to detail
    • Strong team orientation

     

    Preferred Qualifications

    • 2-7 years of experience in investment research, financial modelling and analysis
    • Demonstrated interest or previous experience in Sustainability/ESG
    • Working knowledge of accounting, finance, and valuation
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-energy environment
    • Comfortable taking initiative and being resourceful/entrepreneurial
    • Ability to multi-task and work with numerous teams
    • Progress toward earning the CFA designation
