Work Schedule: 40 hours per week (9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.)
Duties: Associate with Goldman Sachs & Co. LLC in Salt Lake City, UT. Function on a team that is responsible for the operational elements of daily trade processing, allocation monitoring and position exposure for the Firm. Responsibilities include: Involved in processing, control, confirmation, and settlement of the Firm’s accounts related to clearance. Work directly with the Firm’s internal business partners and external clients to ensure the timely and accurate processing of listed derivative products. Work with technology on various issues in relation to books and clearing items flowing properly and being reconciled correctly. Support the execution of on-going projects and efficiency initiatives and provide operational risk management for the Firm’s business. Work with various teams within the Firm’s Operations, Legal and Compliance division to provide support to the Firm’s Clearing, Prime Brokerage, Derivative Clearing Services and Future Businesses. Identify opportunities for process improvements and develops methods to reduce risks, increase controls, and increase customer satisfaction.
Job Requirements: Bachelor’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Management, Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field. 2.5 years of experience in the job offered or related position handling options products and options clearing processes. Must have 2.5 years of experience with: Managing risk of intraday exceptions with detailed knowledge of OCC industry deadlines, Cboe, AMEX and PHLX exchange logic and related counterparty practices; Grasping detailed products and trade processing concepts quickly and working in a time sensitive environment; Collaborating with others in order to identify and solve complex issues that span multiple asset classes, and to position clients and investment banking organization appropriately for upcoming exchange and/or industry changes; Explaining complex product clearing processes and communicating to senior executives, stakeholders and clients on existing nuances and forward-looking industry changes; Utilizing OCC Encore, CDCC SOLA, DTC Settlement Warehouse, Cboe CTMI and other industry platforms to perform critical processing on behalf of investment banking organization and its clients; Utilizing accounting skills to perform reconciliation processes to balance books and records to mitigate exposure risks; FTP and RTC messaging protocol pertaining to identification and resolution of entry and/or system generated issues; Using MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint to track volumes, workflow, and projects including utilizing Pivot tables to manage large datasets, and other Excel formula-based functionality to minimize manual processes and efficiently manage risk; Process improvement including identifying opportunities for efficiency, proposing enhancement plan, lead and implement upgrades to achieve desired outcome; Identifying risks inherent in daily business process and drive initiatives to design controls to mitigate risk while seeking efficient Straight-Through-Processing (STP) workflows; Working with financial regulations and their impact on financial reference data; Data mining/blending to conduct trend analysis.
