    Vice President with Goldman Sachs & Co. LLC in New York, NY.


    Work Schedule: 40 hours per week (9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.)


    Duties:  Vice President with Goldman Sachs & Co. LLC in New York, NY. Co-lead Venture Capital and Growth Equity team with over $4 billion under management focused on investing in private technology opportunities. Source new transactions for the fund to diligence by developing a deep network of entrepreneurs, founders and potential co-investment partners. Lead team in conducting primary due diligence for high-growth private opportunities in internet, software and media sectors, including operational, financial, competitive, customer & supplier diligence. Identify key business drivers; build and review detailed and robust financial models and valuation frameworks using valuation methodologies such as discounted cash flow and comparable company analysis to inform investment decisions. Oversee the performance of analyses of industry, total addressable market, cohort data, and company specific events to evaluate impact on existing and prospective investments. Structure private investment securities with downside protection provisions and minority shareholder rights. Negotiate valuation and terms of investments with Board Members, CEOs/CFOs and other management team members. Serve on the Board of Directors for companies in the portfolio and help craft compelling business plans, growth strategies and restructuring plans. Oversee portfolio construction and risk management strategy across sectors, lifecycle stages and geographies. Prepare and conduct detailed presentations for investment committee meetings and position/portfolio updates. Manage a team of  investment professionals. Perform business planning for new fund launches and expansion globally. Market new funds to prospective Limited Partners. Meet with existing Limited Partners to discuss fund performance. Write content for investor letters including various portfolio company investments and the evolution of sectors and business models impacting the team’s strategy. Serve as an active voting member of the investment committee that meets to vet new transactions.


    Job Requirements: Bachelor’s degree (US or foreign equivalent) in Business Administration, Economics, Finance or a related field. Seven (7) years of experience in building and advising investment in companies in the technology sector. Prior experience must include seven (7) years with the following: performing business due diligence across many sectors, including the technology sector, on private and public companies including building operational, financial and econometric models, assessing management teams, conducting expert interviews, and conducting multi-channel marketing efficiency assessments; conducting primary market research and analyzing data using techniques such as conjoint analysis, customer cohort analysis, total addressable market analysis, cluster analysis, and customer segmentation; mapping market landscapes and assessing competition across key variables such as unit economics, cost of customer acquisition, revenue, and EBITDA; and utilizing excel modeling skills to create financial models. Prior experience must include three (3) years with the following: structuring of private equity and debt securities in the technology sector; negotiating with management teams, board members, creditors and other investors in the private equity, venture capital or growth equity space; cultivating relationships and/or sourcing transactions with entrepreneurs / company founders and potential co-investors; and supervising, guiding and coordinating junior professionals’ work product, including reviewing financial modeling work and presentations. Prior experience must include one (1) year with the following: attending private company board meetings or serving on the Board of Directors and as a Board Observer in both successful and troubled companies to determine risk and investment strategy; and leading the sourcing and execution of proprietarily sourced venture capital and growth equity transactions in the technology sector.  Travel required approximately 40% of the time.
