    The Consumer and Investment Management Division includes Goldman Sachs Asset Management (GSAM), Private Wealth Management (PWM) and our Consumer business (Marcus by Goldman Sachs).     The Renewable Power Group (“RPG”) is a rapidly growing team which invests client capital in clean energy assets, including solar, storage and wind. The team sits within Goldman Sachs Asset Management (“GSAM”) Credit Alternatives, a boutique investment platform with approximately $8 billion under management.  RPG benefits from an experienced team of industry veterans and significant financial backing, which has resulted in meaningful growth since the team was founded in 2017. We have long-term plans to be among the world’s largest owners and operators of clean energy assets, and are therefore looking to hire an Analyst / Associate to support the team’s investing efforts.



    You will play an instrumental role on the team sourcing, evaluating and structuring investments in renewable energy assets. You will be given significant responsibility across the full deal lifecycle, and be exposed to high-profile transactions within a growing, entrepreneurial business.






    • Assess technology risks, engineering plans and environmental landscape to help investment team make informed decisions
    • Build and develop framework for understanding carbon emissions to identify areas of potential renewable investments   
    • Support risk management efforts relating to commodity market exposure (e.g., SRECs/RECs, capacity, and merchant energy) by developing systems to track meteorological impact to portfolio
    • Develop investment thesis for new market and technology opportunities that are environmentally sound/ zero-emission/ renewable in nature
    • Analyze state-level renewable energy initiatives and the impact to the US electrical grid to better position investments in areas of growth and maximum environmental impact
    • Assist in drafting investment memoranda and presenting to the Investment Committee as it relates to energy/electrical, renewable energy certificates and weather risk in transactions



    • 2-5 years of prior work experience in the engineering , environmental engineering, electrical engineering or renewable energy industry
    • Strong analytical, technical and programming skills
    • Passion for renewable energy industry (existing knowledge and experience is a plus)
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Advance degree in Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Environmental Sciences is highly desired
    • Ability to self-direct, analyze and evaluate and form independent judgments
    • Ability to interact and build relationships with a wide variety of people
