    REALTY MANAGEMENT

    RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

    Residential Mortgages Asset Management (RMAM) is a business unit within the Realty Management Division (RMD) primarily supporting the Securities division’s Mortgage Loan Trading and Investment Banking’s Structured Finance desks.  RMAM is responsible for directing due diligence (at both the deal and asset levels) and analytics for the acquisitions, sales and securitizations of residential loan portfolios, and ensuring completion of transaction closing requirements.  Post trade RMAM is responsible for the Asset management and facilitation of the portfolio’s strategies and portfolio performance reporting

     

    Responsibilities

     

    The VP/Associate will be primarily responsible for reviewing offensive and defensive repurchase claims, engaging counterparties in order to communicate the firms position with respect to repurchase demands as well as contractual deadlines, adhering to and enhancing repurchase process metrics, maintaining data integrity, preparing and ensuring the accuracy of repurchase figures, monitoring the service transfer of repurchased assets, and proving ongoing reporting to firm stakeholders inclusive of the Trade Desk, Asset Management, and the Due Diligence Team. The ideal candidate will possess strong negotiation and communication skills as well as possess broad knowledge of Default Servicing and familiarity with trade-related contracts and loan level representations and warranties.

    • Review and process referrals to the Repurchase Team including working closely with RMAM Contract Finance to ensure the identified issues constitutes a contractual representation and warranty breach
    • Communicate review results to other RMAM departments
    • Prepare written responses to counterparty repurchase rebuttals and mortgage insurance rescission requests
    • Work with various groups within RMAM to properly track, report, and communicate repurchase activity
    • Coordinate and communicate with third party servicers to ensure efficient service transfer of repurchased assets
    • Work with internal and external parties to prepare repurchase figures and coordinate funding
    • Actively participate in system/technology related projects (e.g., assist IT/System Administration with design, analysis, testing, and implementation aspects of enhancements made to the Due Diligence System)
    • Support other departmental teams as needed (e.g., New Originations, Whole Loan Reporting, and Trade Desk Support)
    • Assist in updating departmental policies/procedures; ensure departmental and firmwide guidelines are followed
    • Communicate the firms goals and objectives
    • Perform other duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    • 5+ years of extensive mortgage servicing experience, with an emphasis in Foreclosure, Bankruptcy, Loss Mitigation and Tax and Title related matters pertaining to residential mortgage assets
    • Possess firm understanding of governing documents including Purchase and Sale Agreements, Side Letters, and other trade-level documents
    • Independent thinker who will be proactive, assertive and professional in dealings with internal/external customers, third-party vendor partners, other RMD/RMAM teams, and senior managers; be able to work at the detail level while managing account relationships
    • Capable of recommending modifications to existing policies/procedures to control risk and improve performance/efficiencies
    • Strong ability to organize, analyze and interpret legal and compliance materials
    • Strong self-confidence, good judgment, and sound decision making and problem solving skills
    • Possess excellent time management/organizational skills with a keen eye toward attention to detail; must have ability to handle a fast-paced environment, manage deadlines with minimum supervision; successfully meet established project requirements and deadlines; must have ability to work independently and multi-task
    • Outstanding initiative and excellent communication/presentation skills (both verbal and written)
    • Possess strong organizational and detail-oriented skills
    • Advanced proficiencies in MS Excel, Word and Outlook
