    We are seeking a Vice President to develop and support insurance relationships in the GSAM Retail Insurance Business, across multiple lines of business, client types, and asset classes including multi-asset, equity and fixed income.  Distribution opportunities focus on various markets including variable annuities, retirement, and executive benefits.  We prefer a seasoned candidate who is hard-working, and client-friendly with an expertise in sub-advisory and variable annuity client dynamics.

    GSAM’s Retail Insurance Business sits within GSAM Global Insurance Asset Management, one of the four main client segments served by GSAM Americas Client Business.  The Retail Insurance Business is responsible for serving clients and driving sales via insurance company platforms and financial intermediaries including variable annuities, BOLI/COLI platforms, investment consultants, financial advisors, retirement record keepers, and Goldman Sachs Private Wealth Management.  The Retail Insurance Business consists of approximately 20 Sales and Client Service professionals based both in NY and around the US responsible for client engagement in support of GSAM’s investment capabilities including Equity, Fixed Income, Alternative, and Customized Asset Allocation solutions.

     

    RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

     

    HOW YOU WILL FULFILL YOUR POTENTIAL

    • Develop connectivity within the Firm to source and deliver differentiated insurance-based multi-asset, equity, fixed income, and alternative solutions to clients
    • Establish, maintain and grow relationships with leading insurance due diligence teams, investment consultants and financials across the institutional insurance, HNW and corporate markets.
    • Develop complete understanding and appreciation of the Goldman Sachs value proposition, which includes market insights, value-added content, and distribution-focused marketing strategy to deliver the firm when engaging with clients.

     

    QUALIFICATIONS

     

    SKILLS & EXPERIENCE WE’RE LOOKING FOR

    • Minimum 8 years of work experience, 10 years preferred
    • Demonstrated history of commercial prowess and success
    • Excellent interpersonal skills and a desire to work in a team-oriented environment
    • Ability to take initiative and be proactive
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Proven track record of raising assets within a complex sales environment
    • Series 7 and 63 required (must be obtained within three months of employment)
    • Investment Management experience required
    • Extensive travel required
