    Job Summary & Responsibilities


    The GSAM Private Real Estate Group is seeking to add an analyst to its investment team in Los Angeles. The team evaluates commercial real estate investment opportunities across a range of geographies and risk profiles. The property type focus primarily includes office, industrial, retail and multifamily assets in the form of single asset purchases and portfolio acquisitions with and without operating partners. The team invests across the risk spectrum in both income-oriented and appreciation-oriented properties. We are seeking a highly motivated individual comfortable working in a team environment to source, analyze, diligence, and execute investment opportunities alongside senior members of the investing team.

    Responsibilities include:

    • Researching potential investment opportunities
    • Analyzing opportunities and risks inherent in specific sectors and markets
    • Creating valuation analysis, including complex financial models such as discounted cash flows
    • Coordinating internal and external resources to analyze opportunities
    • Formulating investment theses based on research and data findings
    • Coordinating deal closing processes
    • Creating discussion materials for the Investment Committee


    Basic Qualifications

    • At least 1 – 3 years of experience in real estate investment banking, private equity, asset management, lending or commercial brokerage
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
    • Strong quantitative skills and high proficiency with Microsoft Excel are required. A working knowledge of Argus is a plus
    • Ability to work well in a fast paced team environment
    • Project management abilities and time management skills are a must
    • Highly organized; attention to detail and excellent follow-through
    • Positive attitude and very strong work ethic
    • Passion for real estate
