    Consumer and Investment Management (CIMD)

    The Consumer and Investment Management Division includes Goldman Sachs Asset Management (GSAM), Private Wealth Management (PWM) and our Consumer business (Marcus by Goldman Sachs). We provide asset management, wealth management and banking expertise to consumers and institutions around the world. CIMD partners with various teams across the firm to help individuals and institutions navigate changing markets and take control of their financial lives.


    Goldman Sachs Private Wealth Management (PWM) specializes in creating comprehensive wealth management plans for high net worth individuals and families, as well as select institutions, including foundations and endowments. PWM Teams work one-on-one with clients to advise and deliver customized strategies drawn from our deep investment experience, diverse wealth management capabilities and global reach. Our Private Wealth Advisors (PWAs) deliver an unparalleled investment platform inclusive of the full product and service offerings of Goldman Sachs and beyond, which may include tax and estate planning, philanthropic planning and private banking and lending services. As client needs evolve, this close relationship allows the team to offer complementary services and new opportunities by leveraging the resources of Goldman Sachs and beyond.


    A Wealth Management Professional (WMP) in PWM provides relationship management and support to PWM teams by focusing on client service, serving as a key liaison to intermediaries and clients, advisors, and managing the investment process. WMPs serve as the main point of contact with clients in managing the onboarding process, as well as the ongoing operational experience for the client. WMPs play an integral role in the investment process by monitoring portfolio holdings, analyzing asset allocations, researching potential investments, understanding financial market developments and trends, executing trades and marketing new business, all while gaining a broad-based understanding of the asset management business. Additionally, WMPs assist in identifying business growth opportunities, intermediary referrals, and wealth advisory service opportunities.  


    • Bachelor's Degree required
    • Work closely with Private Wealth Advisors to support and implement wealth management strategies for PWM clients
    • Plan and manage the new account onboarding process
    • Manage advisory business implementation and rebalancing
    • Execute, process and reconcile trading and other investment related transactions
    • Manage cash balances and private banking services in accounts
    • Serve as key liaison to other areas supporting PWM business
    • Analyze equity, fixed income and alternative investment portfolios for risk and return characteristics
    • Research internal and external investment vehicles for client asset allocations
    • Keep abreast of the latest events in the financial markets as well as GS research and market views. Relay this information to Private Wealth Advisors and other team members.
    • Provide investment ideas for client portfolios
    • Identify opportunities for, and coordinate wealth advisory services within, client base
    • Assist on projects related to new business development and team strategic planning
    • Identify and qualify potential prospects to be solicited by Private Wealth Advisors
    • Provide overview of client reporting and web capabilities to potential new clients
    • Participate in recruiting and training
    • Serve as coach and mentor for more junior teammates  
    • Lead or participate in divisional efforts to improve efficiencies within the PWM business
    • 2 years of relevant experience
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and think clearly under pressure
    • Strong interest in the financial markets and good investment sense/commercial instinct
    • Excellent interpersonal, leadership and communication skills and a desire to work in a team-oriented environment

    • Undergraduate degree required
    • Series 7 and 66 required (must be obtained within three months of employment)
