    Consumer and Investment Management (CIMD)

    The Consumer and Investment Management Division includes Goldman Sachs Asset Management (GSAM), Private Wealth Management (PWM) and our Consumer business (Marcus by Goldman Sachs). We provide asset management, wealth management and banking expertise to consumers and institutions around the world. CIMD partners with various teams across the firm to help individuals and institutions navigate changing markets and take control of their financial lives.

    What We Do

     The Renewable Power Group (“RPG”) is a rapidly growing team which invests client capital in clean energy assets, including solar, storage and wind. The team sits within Goldman Sachs Asset Management (“GSAM”) Credit Alternatives, a boutique investment platform with approximately $8 billion under management.  RPG benefits from an experienced team of industry veterans and significant financial backing, which has resulted in meaningful growth since the team was founded in 2017. We have long-term plans to be among the world’s largest owners and operators of clean energy assets, and therefore are looking to hire a Vice President to support the team’s investing efforts.

     

    Your Impact

     You will play an instrumental role on the team by sourcing, evaluating and structuring renewable energy investments in this Origination role. You will be given significant responsibility to build a C&I renewable energy sales platform within a growing and entrepreneurial business.

     

     

     

     

    RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

     

    Responsibilities

    • Responsible for identifying, evaluating and executing renewable energy projects on behalf of C&I customers (commercial, industrial, municipal, universities, schools, hospitals, etc)
    • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and across divisions/functions to leverage the firm’s off-taker, developer and power markets relationships
    • Create C&I coverage strategy which entails daily interaction with a wide and varied customer base
    • Identify clients’ needs and create innovative/customized off-take and financing solutions, including virtual PPAs, behind-the-meter, and other solutions
    • Identify/respond to RFP opportunities along with origination of bilateral PPA opportunities 
    • Work with Asset Management team to optimize C&I opportunities with physical in-house expertise

     

    Qualifications

    • 5+ years of prior work experience in the renewable energy industry, preferably in an origination, project finance, investment banking or commodity trading role; minimum Bachelor’s degree (U.S. or equivalent)
    • Existing client relationships with C&I, Municipals and Utilities required with a track record of execution across a spectrum of renewable off-take structures (On-site, behind-the-meter, VPPA, etc.).
    • Ability to develop new relationships and foster a broad segment of potential customers (Tech, Healthcare, Industrials, etc.)
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Flexible, creative and entrepreneurial mindset
    • Ability to self-direct, analyze, evaluate and form independent judgments
