    The Litigation and Regulatory Proceedings Group oversees and handles litigation, arbitration, regulatory and other proceedings that involve Goldman Sachs, its affiliates or their employees, as well as other matters in connection with proceedings in which the firm is not a party. We are seeking an attorney with relevant experience to join the Litigation team and oversee the firm’s consumer lending litigation and regulatory matters.

    RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Handling consumer lending investigations, both internal and regulatory
    • Handling consumer lending litigation and all forms of dispute resolution
    • Instructing and managing outside counsel on consumer finance matters
    • Coordinating with consumer lending business and legal teams tasked with developing the firm’s consumer lending capabilities and strategies
    • Overseeing analysts responsible for handling account levies, attachments and garnishments on consumer accounts
    • Advising Legal, Compliance and business colleagues on potentially contentious matters

    SKILLS / EXPERIENCE

    • Knowledge of and experience with federal, state and local consumer finance laws and regulations including relating to Unfair, Deceptive and Abusive Acts or Practices as well as servicing and collection, including the Fair Debt Collection Practice Act
    • 7+ years of experience required at a leading law firm, financial institution or regulator, with preference for recent experience handling consumer finance matters for a financial institution
    • Team player with the ability to respond and be flexible to client demands
    • Hands-on, energetic, motivated self-starter with the ability to handle multiple, high-priority projects
    • Meticulous attention to detail and superior organizational skills
    • Ability to prioritize tasks and work well under pressure
    • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to influence others who are not in the same line of authority
    • Excellent communication and listening skills with internal/external audiences
    • Professional demeanor
