    Vice President with Goldman Sachs & Co. LLC in Jersey City, NJ.

     

    Work Schedule: 40 hours per week (9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.)

    RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

    Duties: Vice President with Goldman Sachs & Co. LLC in Jersey City, NJ. Engage in daily, weekly & monthly review of risk measurement model outputs in order to determine if risk measurement framework and model outputs are operating in-line with model intent. This involves designing, developing & maintaining productivity and feature enumeration tools to interpret Market Risk Capital Quantification’s risk metrics. Understand financial pricing & risk models including the analysis of pricing and risk model outputs to evaluate, explain and justify measure appropriateness or new features in the Firm’s risk profile. Identify and manage root cause issues in risk measurement framework model and software components and escalate and present findings and solutions to senior management team. Design, develop and maintain controls ensuring completeness and accuracy of measures. Operate as the authoritative publisher of independent risk measurements and publish risk measurement reports to Firm’s internal and external governing bodies. Interact and liaise with groups such as market risk modelers, technology, investing businesses and product controllers to understand and explain the results of calculations. Interact with the Firm’s internal governing bodies such as Risk Committees and executive members of the Firm and external governing bodies such as external regulators and industry bodies. Design and enhance market risk data review models and data report infrastructures to manage large dataset and intensive queries on proprietary platforms. Research and develop creative features to capture, explain and present market risks. Engage in automation engineering to increase control, reduce operational risks & costs and enhance the Firm’s measurement timeliness & availability for self-awareness of significant market risks. Maintain and enhance system development controls and data management controls and efficiency. Design tests to monitor the performance of the calculation models and their implementation on an ongoing basis. Test, develop & integrate process flows and documentation for new quantitative measures. Provide and maintain documentation and ensure risk management framework and process adhere to governance standards. Lead projects and project teams to deliver improvements in the Firm’s risk management platform & processes. Engage in Goldman Sachs Group risk metric review and calculations. Maintain and enhance Goldman Sachs Group risk management data models and data review processes.

     

    Job Requirements: Bachelor’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) Mathematics, Mathematics in Finance, Financial Engineering, or a related quantitative discipline and five (5) years of experience in the job offered or in a related role or Master’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) Mathematics,  Mathematics in Finance,  Financial Engineering, or a related quantitative discipline and three (3) years of experience in the job offered or in a related role. Must have three (3) years of experience with Master’s degree or five (5) years of experience with Bachelor’s degree with: Object oriented and/or functional languages, such as C, C++, Java, or Python; Microsoft Office suite, including Outlook, PowerPoint and advanced EXCEL functions (including VBA); Numerical algorithms, including statistics and time series analysis; Designing robust and scalable models and platforms; Designing and developing automation process for reporting and data management; Financial markets, relationships with financial products and financial institutions; Financial products and valuation techniques; Control processes, including Systems Development Life Cycle, validation of data accuracy; Articulating (verbally and in writing) complex financial and mathematical concepts to stakeholders; Working concurrently on multiple projects with tight time constraints; Working independently, and in a team, to evaluate process risks and implement solutions to further understand the risk profiles managed by a financial services firm; Independently assessing risk profiles managed by a financial services firm and providing detailed analysis to internal stakeholders; and Ensuring risk management processes and metrics adhere to regulatory guidance and associated rules, which, at a minimum should include Comprehensive Capital Analysis and Review (CCAR), Dodd-Frank Act Stress Test (DFAST) AND the Volcker rule.
