    Work Schedule: 40 hours per week (9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.)

    RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

    Duties: Associate with Goldman Sachs & Co. LLC in New York, NY. Make markets in High Yield Fixed Income Securities for the Firm’s institutional customer base. Trade High Yield Fixed Income Securities for the Firm with the goal of providing liquidity, discussing market risk, and providing market color to our institutional clientele. Work in tandem with technology to improve our trading systems and market data platforms. Share risk ideas with High Yield leadership and work on business development plans to create a more robust product offering and help shape the business forward. Responsible for finding new opportunities in the broader U.S. high yield fixed income space.

     

    Job Requirements: Bachelor’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Economics, Finance or a related field. Three (3) years of experience in the job offered or in a related role within Sales & Trading. Must have three (3) years of experience with: using Bond Math to help understand bond valuation and relative value across securities; utilizing knowledge of financial market dynamics and economic developments in the U.S.; database management and data analysis using MS Excel and Bloomberg; and providing detailed feedback and analysis about client trading activities and new trading opportunities. Must have two (2) years of experience with: trading fixed income securities, including high yield bonds; demonstrating quantitative competency for security valuation work and credit analysis; working in financial markets and demonstrated record of being able to take risks with knowledge of the marketplace; addressing the evolving dynamics of a large portfolio of trades and their hedges through trading; generating, presenting, and defending trading ideas in systematic trading strategies to traders and trading desk heads; and providing detailed feedback and analysis about the performance of a trading book to senior management. FINRA Series 7 and 63 required. Travel required to visit clients.
