    Marcus by Goldman Sachs is looking for a scrappy, entrepreneurial, technical and creative product manager to help build the future of Marcus with the Platform Product Management team. We are looking for a product manager to join our growing data team focused on platform products with internal and external partners. As a product manager for this initiative, you will have the opportunity to work with world class data engineers, define a roadmap for scaling the business, and be part of a team that solves to create a data platform that ultimately empowers people financially. You will be responsible for a critical part of the Marcus Platform’s long-term growth strategy and our mission to keep the customer at the center of everything we do. The ideal candidate is resourceful and detail-oriented with a penchant for moving fast on an agile team, collaborating closely with partners and engineers to develop a data network that powers both personal financial insights for our customers and Marcus business insights. 

    As a Platform Product Manager, you will collaborate with a wide range of key stakeholders across business, product, engineering and operations to execute on a comprehensive Marcus product roadmap. You will have growing ownership and be coached to continually identify ways to hone the development process, shipping new service features and functionality seamlessly. You will join a team of creative and driven product managers to help build the foundation of the Marcus Platform. You are comfortable writing specs, partnering closely with engineering on requirement refinement, managing project execution, and being laser focused on data quality for core services that power our businesses.

    • Dive deep into data and establish feedback loops with engineering, product management, and customer service for deeper understanding and response to customer needs and product behavior
    • Define and iterate Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) within mission driven team that align executive KPIs and strategic priorities
    • Write user stories with detailed acceptance criteria
    • Groom user and technical stories with developers and validate that requirements deliver on expectations through product testing and user journeys
    • Prioritize a product backlog, using domain expertise, customer insights and market research to make informed trade-offs between new feature development, platform investment and optimizations 
    • Build consensus with a broad team of internal cross-functional and external stakeholders, ensuring all viewpoints are accounted for and that solutions meet all necessary requirements
    • Collaborate with other internal and external product managers and diverse cross-functional teams to ensure cohesiveness of the overall product experience
    • Co-develop a roadmap with data engineering to support scalability
    • Develop an organized roadmap working closely with the product development team and key stakeholders solving for user behavior
    • Articulate and define both the analytics requirements and the sequencing of a roadmap down to a single sprint
    • Partner closely with Data Engineering and Front-end Development teams


    • 1-3 years of project or product based experience with a desire to work in a fast-paced environment
    • High emotional intelligence, with an innate ability to recognize and understand the emotions and needs of others  
    • Empathy for your team and the customer
    • Aptitude for logically breaking down complex problems and communicating solutions with clarity  
    • Self-motivated and proactive team player who takes ownership of and accountability for initiatives
    • Strong organizational skills, such as effectively managing evolving priorities and strict deadlines
    • Preference to work in a highly dynamic and collaborative environment with heavy emphasis on teamwork, consensus and relationships
    • Proficient in major product management applications (i.e. Jira, Confluence)
    • Proven track record of working with large data sets
    • Willingness to help your team and roll up your sleeves with a positive attitude
    • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently in a team-oriented and fast paced environment
    • Organized with a penchant for leading with data-driven rationale
    • Entrepreneurial problem solver and passionate about building solutions


    • 1-2 years of hands-on product management, 3+ years of web and mobile analytics execution, 4+ years of large scale technical project management, or 2+ years of software development
    • Experience collecting and analyzing behavioral data to understand patterns/trends
    • Proficient in major analytical tools (e.g. SQL, Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics, etc.) 
    • Experience working with CRM tools (e.g. Adobe Campaign, Audience Manager, Launch, etc.)
