    Job Summary & Responsibilities

    The Securities Division FICC Macro business is seeking an Analyst to join its Management and Strategy team. The Securities Division helps institutional clients, including fund managers, financial service providers, and large corporations, buy and sell financial instruments on exchanges around the world. The Management and Strategy team leverages project-oriented problem solving to enhance the commercial performance of the Securities Division, making our business more effective and efficient. Candidates should be interested in: shifting from advisor to owner, joining an entrepreneurial effort, and playing a pivotal role in shaping Goldman Sachs’ forward strategy for its Securities Division.

     

    The ideal candidate will have experience developing and implementing strategic business plans, identifying opportunities to drive business process efficiencies, and working successfully across diverse groups of cross-functional stakeholders. A candidate should demonstrate comfort with leveraging data and technology to drive business decisions, as well as excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

     

    A successful candidate will:

    • Work closely with senior Business Leaders to understand their franchise and advise on the strategic direction
    • Be able to synthesize large data sets, create visualizations in various Business Intelligence platforms, and drive actionable insights for key business leaders
    • Develop a deep understanding of broader regulatory requirements, methodology, and internal implementation in accordance with their business
    • Work closely across multiple stakeholder groups to develop recommendations that will enhance efficiency, improve accuracy, and establish appropriate process controls
    • Partner with cross-divisional teams in driving innovative projects that have direct impact on business unit efficiencies. Key categories of additional activities:
      1. Help develop and implement business plans, including measurement of impact and success
      2. Generate recommendations and manage the implementation of key process improvements
      3. Perform competitive benchmarking analysis using both quantitative and qualitative sources
      4. Manage new revenue activity approval process, including attending meetings and preparing memos
      5. Partner with Regulatory Strats to optimize workflow and industrialize Regulatory Analysis & Execution

     

    Preferred Qualifications:

    Experience

    • Consulting, Operations, or Product Control background with 1-2 years of experience
    • Strong experience with Business Intelligence platforms, such as Qlikview or Tableau
    • Strong experience with process implementation and improvement
    • Robust academic background with demonstrated interest in a diverse set of subject areas
    • Demonstrated interest in financial markets and products
    • Strong quantitative / statistical skill set
    • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
    • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills
