    CONSUMER AND INVESTMENT MANAGEMENT DIVISION (CIMD)

     

    The Consumer and Investment Management Division includes Goldman Sachs Asset Management (GSAM), Private Wealth Management (PWM) and our Consumer business (Marcus by Goldman Sachs). We provide asset management, wealth management and banking expertise to consumers and institutions around the world. CIMD partners with various teams across the firm to help individuals and institutions navigate changing markets and take control of their financial lives.

     

    PWM

     

    Goldman Sachs Private Wealth Management (PWM) specializes in creating comprehensive wealth management plans for high net worth individuals and families, as well as select institutions, including foundations and endowments. PWM Teams work one-on-one with clients to advise and deliver customized strategies drawn from our deep investment experience, diverse wealth management capabilities and global reach. Our Private Wealth Advisors (PWAs) deliver an unparalleled investment platform inclusive of the full product and service offerings of Goldman Sachs and beyond, which may include tax and estate planning, philanthropic planning and private banking and lending services. As client needs evolve, this close relationship allows the team to offer complementary services and new opportunities by leveraging the resources of Goldman Sachs and beyond

     

    MISSION

     

    The Risk Management Associate (RMA) is responsible for ongoing support of the United Capital Risk Management Team (UCRM).  The RMA provides sales support, underwriting and service for life, disability, long term care and annuity products offered through (UCRM).

     

    KEY RESULT AREAS

     

    The RMA is expected to provide sales support and analysis to the Managing Directors, Wealth Advisers, Relationship Managers and Directors of Operations for assigned offices.  Metrics include reducing underwriting cycle time, accuracy in completing and processing paperwork, policy service and increased client retention. 

    RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

    ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

     

    • Establish rapport with all of our Managing Directors (MDs), Wealth Advisers (WAs), Relationship Managers (RMs) and Directors of Operations (DOOs) to properly service new and existing insurance (Life, Long Term Care, Disability and Annuities) maintained by their clients.
    • Manage all facets of the underwriting process.  Including, but not limited to:
    • Assuring the writing adviser is appropriately licensed
    • Monitoring continuing education requirements
    • Appointing the writing adviser with the necessary insurance carriers
    • Pre-populating applications
    • Creating/facilitating insurance illustrations
    • Work with our vendor partner to expedite medicals, inspection reports, physician records, etc.
    • Confirm that all paperwork (application, delivery requirements, etc.) are in good order
    • Follow up with case managers on case status
    • Manage all facets of policy service, including but not limited to:
    • Premium payments
    • In-force illustrations
    • Policy service, changes in address, beneficiaries, benefits, etc.
    • Utilize assessment tools assist MDs/RMs/DOOs to identify insurance opportunities with existing clients.
    • Work closely with Risk Management (UCRM) team and vendor partners to support United Capital initiatives.
    • Manage time allocated to each office.

     

    POSITION SPECIFICATIONS

     

    Experience and Education:

     

    • Insurance license required
    • Designations preferred
    • A bachelor’s degree and/or related work experience
    • 3-5 years of working as a policy service manager, underwriter, case design specialist or insurance office generalist in a multi-carrier, multi-line environment (life, DI, LTC)
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Salesforce and other technology (planning software) necessary to complete the job
    • Strong life, disability, long term care and annuities product knowledge
    • Ability to run various carrier illustrations
    • Fundamental knowledge of underwriting and its processes
    • Strong oral and written skills
    • Ability to manage multiple projects
    • Must be able to prioritize tasks
