    We are seeking an Analyst to join the GSAM Retail Insurance Business within the Americas Client Business (ACB). The analyst will work as a generalist for the business in support of client needs relating to investment performance analysis, marketing and presentations, questionnaires/RFPs, and reporting. By supporting the senior members of the team, you will be instrumental in the growth of new and existing insurance relationships across investment opportunities, client types, and asset classes including multi-asset, equity and fixed income. The ideal candidate will have 1-2 years of experience and a desire to learn about asset management, strategic relationship management, client service and business development.

    The Consumer and Investment Management Division includes Goldman Sachs Asset Management (GSAM), Private Wealth Management (PWM) and our Consumer business (Marcus by Goldman Sachs).     RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

    GSAM’s Retail Insurance Business sits within GSAM Global Insurance Asset Management, one of the four main client segments served by GSAM Americas Client Business.  The Retail Insurance Business is responsible for serving clients and driving sales via insurance company platforms and financial intermediaries including variable annuities, BOLI/COLI platforms, investment consultants, financial advisors, retirement record keepers, and Goldman Sachs Private Wealth Management.  The retail Insurance Business consists of 20 Sales and Client Service professionals based both in NY and around the US distributing GSAM’s global Equity, Fixed Income, Alternative, and Customized Asset Allocation solutions.

     

    RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

     

    HOW YOU WILL FULFILL YOUR POTENTIAL

    • Work alongside the broader team to strategically position new strategies for clients and prospects
    • Support existing relationships with ongoing investment needs and relationship management
    • Collaborate and serve as internal point of contact with internal teams, including portfolio management, marketing, ACB management, and legal
    • Coordinate preparation for client meetings including attendance of appropriate GSAM personnel, prep materials, production of presentation decks, notes, and follow ups
    • Develop complete understanding of the GSAM value proposition, which includes market insights, effective portfolios & practices, and investment solutions
    • Develop strong knowledge of the insurance distribution market including legal and regulatory issues

    QUALIFICATIONS

     

    SKILLS & EXPERIENCE WE’RE LOOKING FOR

    • Minimum 1-2 years of work experience
    • Knowledge of investment vehicles preferred but not required
    • Strong analytical and relationship-building skills
    • Attention to detail with a sense of urgency a must
    • Excellent written and verbal communication
    • Ability to prioritize work and multi-task with minimal direction
    • Ability to take initiative and be proactive
