    CONSUMER AND INVESTMENT MANAGEMENT DIVISION (CIMD)

    The Consumer and Investment Management Division includes Goldman Sachs Asset Management (GSAM), Private Wealth Management (PWM) and our Consumer business (Marcus by Goldman Sachs). We provide asset management, wealth management and banking expertise to consumers and institutions around the world. CIMD partners with various teams across the firm to help individuals and institutions navigate changing markets and take control of their financial lives.

     

    PWM

    Goldman Sachs Private Wealth Management (PWM) specializes in creating comprehensive wealth management plans for high net worth individuals and families, as well as select institutions, including foundations and endowments. PWM Teams work one-on-one with clients to advise and deliver customized strategies drawn from our deep investment experience, diverse wealth management capabilities and global reach. Our Private Wealth Advisors (PWAs) deliver an unparalleled investment platform inclusive of the full product and service offerings of Goldman Sachs and beyond, which may include tax and estate planning, philanthropic planning and private banking and lending services. As client needs evolve, this close relationship allows the team to offer complementary services and new opportunities by leveraging the resources of Goldman Sachs and beyond

    RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

     

    PRIOR WORK EXPERIENCE

    • Minimum 2 years of accounting experience in a staff accounting/GL accounting role or 2 years of public accounting experience as an auditor with experience in auditing revenue/AR/deferred revenue
    • Experience in public company preferred but not required
    • Strong basic accounting knowledge, particularly in revenue recognition and A/R valuation and experience performing or reviewing balance sheet reconciliations
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting minimum

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Support field offices in responding to revenue related questions, performing analysis and reconciliations to resolve issues and answer questions
    • Manage certification of billing monthly, eventually assist in validating billing calculations
    • Perform balance sheet reconciliation of cash, accounts receivable, and deferred revenue monthly
    • Substantively substantiate account balances quarterly for balance sheet certification
    • Assist in quarterly reporting and annual audit by producing supporting documentation
    • Assist in other department projects and initiatives as needed

    CORE COMPETENCIES

    • Ability to manage very tight deadlines around monthly, quarterly, and yearly close
    • Strong Excel skills and working with large amounts of numerical data
    • Experience with Access is preferred but not required
    • Ability to communicate complex accounting issues with non-accountants
    • Work closely in teams and be willing to pick up slack when needed; communicating questions requests internally and ensuring they are completed and resolved in a timely manner
