    Consumer and Investment Management (CIMD)

The Consumer and Investment Management Division includes Goldman Sachs Asset Management (GSAM), Private Wealth Management (PWM) and our Consumer business (Marcus by Goldman Sachs). We provide asset management, wealth management and banking expertise to consumers and institutions around the world. CIMD partners with various teams across the firm to help individuals and institutions navigate changing markets and take control of their financial lives.

    GSAM

Goldman Sachs Asset Management (GSAM) is one of the world’s leading investment managers. GSAM provides institutional and individual investors with investment and advisory solutions, with strategies spanning asset classes, industries, and geographies.  We help our clients navigate today’s dynamic markets, and identify the opportunities that shape their portfolios and long-term investment goals. We extend these global capabilities to the world’s leading pension plans, sovereign wealth funds, central banks, insurance companies, financial institutions, endowments, foundations, individuals and family offices

    What We Do

Within the Investment Management Division, strategists (also known as ‘Strats’) play important roles in research, valuation, portfolio design and construction, surveillance and risk management analytics. A strategist will apply quantitative and analytical methods to come up with solutions that are accurate, robust and scalable.

GSAM Fixed Income is an investment team with a global suite of products that delivers fixed income portfolio solutions and manages assets for a broad range of clients such as pension funds, endowments, foundations, financial institutions, insurers and high net worth individuals.  We focus on investing and advising clients across all sectors of the fixed income market, ranging from traditional investment grade products to more opportunistic/distressed investing.

    RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

    Responsibilities

Strat team members will assume responsibility for the developed analytics, and are given ample opportunity to provide creative solutions and develop novel analytical methods. The daily interactions with other team members across geographies demands an ability to communicate clearly about complex financial, business, and mathematical concepts.

A strategist within GSAM Fixed Income will apply quantitative methods and industry knowledge to develop investment strategy and risk management analytics that will be used in managing portfolios in our GSAM Fixed Income business.
