    The Merchant Banking Division Engineering team use cutting edge technologies and modern software development approach to create products for our internal businesses and the clients of Goldman Sachs, across investing, portfolio management, fund raising, and investor reporting.


    For this role, we are interested in individuals who have strong software design and development skills, and an interest to learn about finance. As a VP of Business Software Engineer in Merchant Banking Division Engineering, you will have the opportunity be the technical lead of a team working on many different types of projects including:

    • Creating software products to assist investment selection and optimize portfolio returns across investing strategies
    • Creating cross-platform software products to allow GS clients to access analytics and manage their investments
    • Developing APIs for generating data and analytics


    Basic Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering, computer science, math, physics, or other related field
    • Full-stack engineer with strong software design and coding skills, with experience in React, Java, and other languages
    • Strong problem solving skills
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Experience with test-driven development and agile development approach


    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience leading development of web-based applications or large-scale distributed systems, implementing fundamental algorithms, working in different programming languages and databases
    • Experience with modern SDLC tooling
    • Finance: Understanding of market dynamics and conventions, and of different assets’ behaviors and specifications. Applicants need not have specific financial knowledge or experience to apply
