    GLOBAL COMPLIANCE

    Our division prevents, detects and mitigates compliance, regulatory and reputational risk across the firm and helps to strengthen the firm’s culture of compliance. Compliance accomplishes these through the firm’s enterprise-wide compliance risk management program. As an independent control function and part of the firm’s second line of defense, Compliance assesses the firm’s compliance, regulatory and reputational risk; monitors for compliance with new or amended laws, rules and regulations; designs and implements controls, policies, procedures and training; conducts independent testing; investigates, surveils and monitors for compliance risks and breaches; and leads the firm’s responses to regulatory examinations, audits and inquiries. You'll be part of a team with members from a wide range of academic and professional backgrounds, such as law, accounting, sales, and trading. We look for those who possess sound judgment, curiosity, and are able to adapt to a changing regulatory landscape. 

    RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

    BUSINESS UNIT AND ROLE OVERVIEW

    Federation Compliance provides compliance coverage to the Operations, Technology, Finance, Risk, Services and Human Capital Management divisions ("the Federation").  This includes:

    • Conducting risk identification, measurement and assessment
    • Monitoring for compliance with laws, rules, regulations and policies, including the identification and investigation of conduct related issues
    • Participating in firm responses to regulatory examinations, audits and inquiries
    • Performing surveillance and investigations of business activities of the above-referenced Federation groups
    • Testing the effectiveness of controls
    • Writing policies and procedures

    ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    In Federation Compliance in the Americas, you will cover the Federation groups located in the Americas office locations (primarily New York/New Jersey, Salt Lake City, Dallas).  You will also participate in region-wide and global initiatives to enact the Global Compliance mandate and Business Unit priorities.

    Principal Responsibilities:

    • Partner with the Federation in order to conduct and supervise its activities in compliance with regulations and firm policies, help to reduce the firm's regulatory and reputation risk, and reinforce the firm's culture of compliance
    • Fielding questions and escalations and ensure Federation personnel are abiding by regulatory and firm guidelines
    • Work with the Core Compliance Function (CCF) team! leads to build and drive strategy in conjunction with global counterparts
    • Review surveillance alerts and conduct forensic reviews to monitor the Federation's compliance with regulations and firm policies
    • Identify and effectively escalate potential issues to the appropriate person/s
    • Co-ordinate, compile and produce quarterly decks for presentation to Senior Federation business partners
    • Develop, draft and assist in the implementation of policies & procedures
    • Develop and deliver communication and compliance learning to the Federation
    • Provide support to the broader team on various project initiatives
    • Liaise with other Compliance, Legal and Federation personnel on cross-divisional initiatives

     Qualifications:

    • BA or BS Degree
    • At least four years of work experience, preferably in a Compliance/Risk role.
    • Demonstrated project management experience with proven ability to build rapport with stakeholders and appropriately exercise judgment in a collaborative, consensus-driven environment
    • Experience with process improvement and identifying opportunities for efficiency
    • Pro-active, self-motivated, quick-learner, assertive and well organized
    • Ability to work independently, but still be a strong team player
    • Forward looking, focused on streamlining processes and increasing efficiency
    • Attention to detail and strong follow-up skills
    • Inquisitive and investigative skills
    • Hands on, proactive approach to problem solving
