Work Schedule: 40 hours per week (9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.)
Duties: Associate with Goldman Sachs & Co. LLC in New York, New York. Multiple positions available. Originate, structure, analyze, execute and facilitate the distribution of securitization and general asset-based financing transactions for issuers in sectors such as transportation (including aircrafts). Assist with managing live deal execution, including running due diligence processes, negotiating financing documentation, managing rating agency processes, drafting organizing and attending deal and non-deal roadshows and liaising other investment banks and other parties within the Investment Banking division. Develop fixed income bond structures and have a strong understanding of structured products. Work with senior and junior professionals on presentations prepared for transactions, investment banking pitches and client service projects on aircraft finance topics. Work on financial models and draft memoranda required to gain internal approvals from typical investment banking committees. Build complex cash flow models for structured products, especially in transportation field. Analyze the mechanics of cash flow waterfalls and understand the return and risk of transactions. Work with rating agencies and understand rating criteria. Review legal documents and offering memoranda to identify inconsistencies and model transactions based on operative documents.
Job Requirements: Master’s degree (U.S. or equivalent) in Finance, Economics or a related field. One (1) year of experience with a Master’s degree in the job offered or in a related investment banking or management position. Prior experience must include six (6) months with: building cashflow models for aircraft ABS, triple net lease ABS and container and shipping ABS transactions, analyzing the mechanics of cash flow waterfalls, and working with return and risk of transactions; working with rating agency criterion and developing or applying rating agency cash flow stresses for various asset classes; performing origination and structuring of asset-based aircraft financings across various product types including securitizations, loans, and equity syndications; reading legal documents and offering memorandums, identifying inconsistencies, and modeling transactions based on operative documents; negotiating transaction documentation and offering memoranda, and reviewing all legal documents associated with financing transactions in order to ensure accuracy and business judgement; working with Intex and Deal Vector; building bespoke models and automation in Excel and VBA; and preparing presentations in MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel to review transactions with senior bankers, committees, rating agencies, investors, management teams and boards of directors. FINRA Series 79 and Series 63 required. Domestic and international travel required approximately (ten percent) 10% of the time to attend client meetings.
