RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

GS SUSTAIN strives to identify long-term high quality investment ideas with persistent high returns on capital, access to growth, durable competitive advantage and engagement with key ESG issues. The GS Sustain Strategy team works cross-divisionally to bring our insights on the evolving ESG landscape to a broad range of firm clients.

 

Working closely with the Senior Analyst and other members of the global GS SUSTAIN research team, the goal of the Associate is to:

  • Build strong industry knowledge of corporate ESG risks and opportunities across sectors
  • Write reports/notes on key long-term ESG themes
  • Interpret data and perform analysis on market, economic and ESG trends
  • Communicate with the equities sales force, investing clients and company managements as well as other firm clients and stakeholders 

Basic Qualifications

  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in Excel
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong team orientation

 Preferred Qualifications

  • 2-7 years of experience in research, financial modelling and analysis
  • Previous experience or demonstrated interest working on sustainability/ESG topics
  • Working knowledge of accounting, finance, and valuation
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-energy environment
  • Comfortable taking initiative and being resourceful/entrepreneurial
  • Ability to multi-task and work with numerous teams globally
