RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

Duties: Associate with Goldman Sachs & Co. LLC in Jersey City, NJ. Calculate and record monthly amortization and employer tax accruals for deferred cash & liability awards globally, utilizing time-apportionment by location/country in accordance with ASC-718 and IFRS. Assist in the preparation of deferred cash budgets/projections. Prepare stand-alone share-based disclosures in accordance with IFRS. Coordinate with technology support to prepare database for stand-alone reporting requirements and coordinate the scheduling of quarterly jobs. Ensure existing controls are maintained and followed in compliance with operational risk mitigation. Calculate and record year-end equity accruals for retirement eligible employees as well as immediate vesting plans. Perform and maintain support documentation in accordance with Sarbanes-Oxley legislation. Identify and implement process improvement opportunities. Liaise with technology support team to perform testing of system enhancements. Prepare standard management reports for various groups and respond to ad hoc queries. Reconcile data between HCM and the Compensation stand-alone disclosure tool. Reconcile sub-ledger balances to the general ledger and quarterly balance sheet substantiation.

 

Job Requirements: Bachelor’s degree (U.S. or equivalent) in Accounting or Finance. Two (2) years of general accounting experience and/or share-based accounting. Prior work experience in general accounting and/or share-based accounting must include two (2) years: Experience with share-based compensation and application of time-apportionment for sourcing equity awards by location/country; Knowledge of ASC-718 and IFRS to ensure compliance of share-based compensation accounting & reporting/disclosures globally; Utilizing understanding of the control environment for compliance with Sarbanes Oxley and general risk mitigation; Interacting with technology with respect to the development and implementation of system enhancements/modifications; Demonstrating organization and analytical skills, as well as attention to detail, in simultaneously managing multiple time-sensitive accounting projects; Utilizing experience to research and address reconciling items relating  to sub-ledger vs. general ledger balances and provide variance explanations as necessary; and Applying knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Access and Power Point.
