RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

We are recruiting a New York based senior VP (15+ years experience of which at least 5 years in leadership positions in relevant specialist functions) to co-head the Global Markets Resiliency Risk team, within the Global Markets Operating Risk department.

 

The Global Markets Operating Risk department encompasses numerous functions including global management and oversight of Supervisory, Conduct and Operational Controls as well as divisional Technology Risk, and business resiliency and continuity planning. The team spans 8 locations across the globe.

 

Within the Global Markets Operating Risk department, the Resiliency Risk team is accountable for (1) pre-emptively identifying and mitigating threats to operating Resiliency Objectives that are established for each of the division’s major commercial functions including Global Markets Sales and Trading, Operations and Engineering, and (2) preparedness for, and risk management of, incidents that may impact those objectives.  The team will partner closely with the other specialist resiliency and business continuity teams across the firm.

 

Key leadership objectives for the Resiliency Risk Management team are:

  • Implement and manage the Global Markets Resiliency Risk program, incorporating the firm’s evolving thinking and program in this space.
  • Build and lead a global team of 5 individuals responsible for ensuring that existing Global business continuity plans are satisfied, while transitioning towards an enhanced resiliency risk management Operating model and program.
  • Create a comprehensive Preparedness program and infrastructure for Global Markets to ensure that actions required in various crisis situations are well-understood and rehearsed.
  • Partner with senior Operations and Engineering staff within Global Markets to define and achieve processing and technology resiliency objectives.
  • Partner with resiliency specialists in other divisions, in particular Risk Division and Technology Division.
  • Contribute more broadly to the leadership of the Global Markets Operating Risk department

 

Key Skills:

 

  • Knowledge of and experience with Business Continuity Planning of large scale, complex businesses with global footprint (5,000+ people)
  • Proven experience in leading large scale redesign and uplift of operating resiliency programs and associated technology support infrastructure and processes, working closely with key partners and stakeholders to determine and meet multiple business objectives around business continuity and resiliency
  • Prior experience in financial services preferred but not required
