Work Schedule: 40 hours per week (9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.)
Duties: Associate with Goldman Sachs & Co. LLC in New York, NY. Analyzes, structures and executes transactions on behalf of corporate clients, with a focus on Financial Institutions, specifically Asset Management and Financial Technology. Prepares and reviews proprietary financial models, such as M&A, DCF and LBO valuations, analysis of comparable companies and precedent transactions. Analyzes accounting and regulatory statements, debt and equity filings and documents, financial projections and models prepared by clients in various formats. Manages, guides and coordinates project workstreams and junior professionals’ work product, including reviewing financial modeling work and presentations prepared for transactions, corporate board meetings, investment banking pitches and client service projects on corporate finance topics; prepares, and reviews memoranda required to gain internal approvals from typical investment banking committees. Presents to clients, including at the CEO / CFO level, on topics such as strategic alternatives, industry update, capital markets activities, restructuring alternatives and corporate governance issues at board meetings and pitches and on conference calls. Interacts with senior and junior management team members on a regular basis to execute projects, provide updates and advice, and prepare presentation materials. Manages deal execution, including preparing marketing materials, running due diligence processes, negotiating non-disclosure agreements and other legal documents with lawyers and potential buyers, organizing and attending deal and non-deal roadshow meetings, and liaising with other investment banks and other parties within the Investment Banking division. Manages end-to-end initial public offering process, including putting together pitch materials for bake-off, running valuation analysis, writing business section of S-1 during drafting phase, traveling with clients for testing the waters and roadshow meetings, conducting due diligence sessions and writing memos to clear internal commitments committee. Reviews complex legal documents including offering documents and stock purchase agreements. Supervises 1-2 Analysts / Junior Associates per project; works across several projects at one time.
Job Requirements: Master’s degree or Bachelor’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Finance, Economics, Business Administration or a related field. One (1) year of experience (with a Master’s degree) OR three (3) years of experience (with a Bachelor’s degree) in the job offered or related role. Prior work experience must have one (1) year of experience (with a Master’s degree) OR three (3) years of experience (with a Bachelor’s degree) in: Developing complex presentations and financial models using Microsoft Office, Excel and PowerPoint; Building and reviewing complex financial projection models reflecting various scenarios, including operating models; Working with other professionals across the firm to provide financial advice to companies, in particular in the Financial Institutions space; Presenting to senior client executives (e.g., CEO, COO, CFO) on corporate strategy and process improvement initiatives; Managing analysts and junior associates on project teams; Utilizing knowledge of Financial Services companies, specifically through experience working on projects for Consumer Banking and Asset Management; and Utilizing understanding of regulatory rules affecting financial institutions. Must be able to obtain FINRA Series 79 license within 3 months of start date. Travel required for client meetings 15% of time.
