RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

We work are looking for an intellectually-curious attorney to join the firm's Transaction Banking (TxB) Legal team. The attorney will provide U.S. based legal support of TxB product development, strategic alliances, digitization and other matters.  As a financial institution that continues to evolve and grow, businesses that are always focusing on the next opportunity and new technology, which introduce novel and challenging issues and projects.

This attorney will be required to proactively advise the firm on all aspects of innovation, development and commercialization of TxB products and services.  The work includes serving as a Legal stakeholder, assisting in strategic projects, participating in large working groups, and drafting and negotiating alliance and client documentation.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Advise Goldman Sachs Bank on its TxB business build-out
• Engage directly with TxB product personnel
• Identify all relevant issues and work to resolve legal and regulatory matters
• Liaise with other attorneys across the Legal Department and other control and support functions on legal, regulatory, risk, compliance, privacy and vendor management matters.
• Prepare and negotiate vendor and client contractual documentation.
• Attend new product, line of defense, risk and control meetings

Experience and Educations:

• Juris Doctor degree from a top law school
• 3-5+ years of experience at a large law firm and/or in-house at a financial institution
• General knowledge of transaction banking
• Experience in treasury services, including accounts, payments, networks and FX, a major plus
• Experience vendor management matters, a plus
• Background or demonstrated interest in fintech and digitization, a plus
• Excellent speaking and presentation skills
• Highly responsive, with as strong sense of urgency, and multi-tasking skills
• Excellent time management skills, ability to handle multiple internal clients and projects
