The Consumer and Investment Management Division includes Goldman Sachs Asset Management (GSAM), Private Wealth Management (PWM) and our Consumer business (Marcus by Goldman Sachs). What We Do

 

Global Portfolio Solutions (GPS) is a multi-asset class investing group that sits within the Investment Management Division. It designs and develops comprehensive investment management solutions customized to meet the investment objectives and relevant constraints of clients.  These solutions bring together state-of-the-art techniques for multi-asset portfolio design and implementation and reflect proprietary research and analytics conducted by the GPS team. With investment professionals across the globe, GPS invests or advises on assets for some of the world’s leading corporations, sovereign wealth funds, pension plans, governments, financial institutions, endowments, foundations, and family offices

 

Your Impact

 

The successful candidate would become a member of the Strategist Team within GPS, responsible for the research and design of multi-asset class portfolios. This role is highly analytical, focusing on researching, developing, investing, and communicating customized asset allocation and portfolio construction solutions for clients. 

GPS Strategists collaborate with Portfolio Managers, Traders, and Sales professionals to analyze portfolios, create investment algorithms, and build pricing models and risk management tools for a broad set of instruments across global financial markets. They also work with institutional clients to understand and analyze investment needs, portfolios (including those employing external managers) and investment strategies. The work involves developing a thorough understanding of the full range of investment products and strategies, an ability to capture the characteristics of those investments in mathematical models and the creation of infrastructure to make those analyses reusable and scalable across our businesses.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

Responsibilities:

 

Strat team members will assume responsibility for the developed analytics. Team members are given ample opportunity to devise creative solutions driven by novel analytical methods that drive our investment process forward. To navigate the daily interactions with other GPS team members, clear and concise communication of the financial, business, and mathematical concepts under consideration is essential.

  

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelors or Masters in a quantitative discipline for analyst level position
  • PhD level qualification in a quantitative discipline for associate level position
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills
  • Desire and ability to create innovative solutions to commercial challenges
  • Programming expertise, ability to transform concepts and ideas into scalable and robust software
  • Excellent communication skills
