Your Impact

Strategic Engagements is responsible for sourcing, engaging and building upon third party relationships for Marcus across various business lines in an effort to generate bottom-line savings and accretive solutions. This team offers a unique opportunity to strategically guide third party engagements for a new consumer digital finance brand in the industry. As a member of the team, you will develop consumer finance industry knowledge at the vendor level, refine your risk management and contract negotiation skills and learn to manage third party risk for Goldman Sachs. Joining this team will give you the opportunity to shape the future state of the firm's innovative consumer-facing businesses while strengthening your knowledge of the industry.


Job Responsibilities: 

  • Develop relationships with existing and potential third parties for the Marcus business
  • Negotiate terms and craft deals to bolster long-term relationships with existing and potential third parties of Marcus
  • Become a central point of contact for third party escalations
  • Partner with the Marcus business heads and relevant business units within the firm to source, onboard and offboard third party vendors, as appropriate
  • Share accretive solutions with colleagues to ensure effective economies of scale across our product lines
  • Establish and maintain standards and guidelines, including escalation procedures, consistent with regulatory guidelines related to vendor management 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (U.S. or equivalent)
  • Previous sourcing, partnership / deal-making, vendor management, risk management and / or auditing experience preferred
  • Commercial negotiation experience with third parties
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills with a proven ability to articulate complex ideas, express and defend a point of view, and influence outcomes
  • Ability to work with senior management and external partners

  • Ability to work independently, but still be a strong team player 
  • Experience managing several projects simultaneously
  • Detail oriented
  • Self-starter
