PFM

Goldman Sachs Personal Financial Management (GS PFM) specializes in creating personalized wealth management plans for affluent individuals and families. We give clients clarity, confidence and control over their financial decisions. Our dedicated team of advisors across approximately 100 offices throughout the U.S., develops and implements personalized plans tailored to each client's values and life goals. Our advisors offer an investment platform inclusive of products and services offered by Goldman Sachs and other third parties, including private banking and lending offerings. We consider the relationships with our clients a lifelong partnership, a partnership backed by over 150 years of Goldman Sachs providing consistency, perspective and access as our clients’ needs evolve.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

Responsibilities:

As a member of the GS PFM Personal Advisor Solutions team you will utilize our unique client experience to manage relationships and inspire clients to take action toward achieving their personal financial goals.  Our focus is financial planning first, providing clients with clarity, confidence and a comprehensive financial plan covering: Budgeting, College Planning, Retirement, Investments, Insurance, Tax and Estate Planning. 

Successful advisors are expected to:

  • Participate in our industry leading training certification process - receive detailed training and one-on-one coaching to deliver our unique client experience, learn the tools and technology you will use every day to develop and grow your client relationships
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of Goldman Sachs Personal Financial Management unique planning and sales process
  • Develop and manage relationships with assigned client base and deliver a world-class client experience, ensure all clients have a consistent and positive experience
  • Engage in new business development including identification of opportunities within current book of business. Proactively identify opportunities to:
    • Consolidate outside client assets providing improved organization of their financial picture
    • Provide product based solutions to help clients achieve their financial goals
    • Refer business to other Goldman Sachs business units
  • Establish and maintain relationships with industry influencers and key strategic partners. Actively develop and maintain relationships with target clients, effectively utilizing marketing channels and materials
  • Maintain clear communication with clients relative to a minimum level of service and ongoing service expectations
    • Document all client interactions in our CRM Software (Salesforce)

 

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting and/or Economics or equivalent experience
  • 1+ years of experience in the investments industry, including investment training and in-depth knowledge of investment products and services
  • 2+ years of relevant retail client facing experience in the financial services industry; preferably in key areas of financial planning: Investments, Banking, Insurance, Tax
  • FINRA Licenses: SIE, Series 7 and Series 66 preferred (or required within 120 days)
  • CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM (CFP®) preferred (or required within 24 months)

 

Required Skills/Candidate Attributes:

  • Communicate effectively and confidently with both clients and internal teams
  • Manage goals, navigate complexity and prioritize workflow in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to problem solve, take responsibility, demonstrate personal integrity and deal with highly confidential information on a daily basis
  • Self-starter with a strong sense of ownership, positive professional attitude and demeanor
  • Exercise sound judgment, tact and diplomacy when dealing with clients and management/team members
  • Excellent time management and strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks and anticipate potential client issues
  • Strong computer skills and ability to multitask
  • Knowledgeable in:
    • Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel) and Google Apps
    • Salesforce or other CRM software
    • Broker Dealer and Investment Advisory Regulations
