Transaction Banking

Transaction Banking (“TxB”) facilitates the storage and movement of value globally.  As a strategic priority for Goldman Sachs, we are building a modern and digital-first solution to serve our clients. Our business combines the strength, heritage, and expertise of a 150-year-old firm with the agility and entrepreneurial spirit of a tech start-up. Our goal is to provide a best-in- TxB’s Risk Management team oversees all risks across TxB globally.  Potential candidates will have a bird’s eye view of an exciting new business and the opportunity to work closely with TxB and GS leadership teams. They will also have a view into all TxB products, new business initiatives, go-to-market strategies, client interactions, regulatory dynamic and the full spectrum of business risks and controls.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

As Head of Fraud Prevention for Transaction Banking at Goldman Sachs, you’ll lead our anti-fraud efforts for the Transaction Banking Business.  This includes but is not limited to payments, cyber, credit, and account related fraud prevention product development.  You will partner with engineering to build our fraud prevention features and roadmap for our product set; work with our risk, operations, and financial crimes compliance to help the business scale from a process perspective; and leverage data science to build an engine that can detect and prevent fraud in an automated fashion.

 

 

In this role, you will:

 

Build and deliver a comprehensive machine learning roadmap across bank customer life cycle from account opening to account management that enables customer base growth and move and hold money globally while preventing fraudulent activity

 

Partner with senior leaders and partner teams in problem framing and conception of ideas, develop consensus and execute on the machine learning agenda

 

Work with a data science team and build machine learning models through all phases of development, from design, testing, data gathering, training, evaluation, validation, and implementation

 

Partner with a cross-functional team of product managers, software engineers, and business analysts to launch machine learning solutions into production

 

Actively identify and manage model risks in line with model risk management policies

 

Identify, evaluate, and deploy new algorithms, data strategies, testing strategy, and implementation capabilities to drive continuous innovation

Candidate MUST have experience building payments fraud detection tools with applications such as Feedzai, Actimize, etc.

Experienced. You’ve built machine learning models over TB scale data, validated them, back tested them and know what it takes to launch them in a real-time production environment 

 

Team oriented:  You excel at partnering with cross functional teams to champion the field of data science achieve collective goals

 

Innovative. You continually research and evaluate emerging technologies. You stay current on published state-of-the-art methods, technologies, and applications and seek out opportunities to apply them

 

Basic Qualifications:

 

Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree plus 5 years of experience in product management, data analytics, or risk management

 

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

PhD in Computer Science (Machine Learning, Statistics, Math or equivalent) plus 5 years of experience in data analytics

 

At least 5 years of experience applying machine learning to solve complex problems for large scale applications
