Consumer Business (Marcus by Goldman Sachs)

Our Consumer business, Marcus by Goldman Sachs, serves millions of customers across multiple products including lending, deposits, financial tools and our partnership with Apple on Apple Card. How You Will Fulfill Your Potential

  • Individual should manage and understand different intricacies or software release cycles for microservices in public cloud.
  • Individual should have enough functional experience to understand the components of the release and how their technical complexity will affect the release schedule and risks.
  • Should be able to validate all the commit branches and look for anomalies with respect to missing commits or commits that have not been approved by change board in a predictable timeline (committed schedule).
  • Engage with all the stake holders and coordinate the release management process in different environments including external vendors and clients
  • Streamline the release process constantly and looking for improvements to ensure quality / Timely releases across realm's Promoting releases across ENV and patching  ENV on need.
  • Communicating to stakeholder on the release progress through constant co-ordination and keeping t! he development productivity  churning at a weekly cadence.< i>Managing dependency across vendor / partner based on the content of  the release and sequencing them in the right order to ensure a zero down time / 24 X7 availability of services.
  • Primary responsibility is to ensure that the various component projects of a particular software release meet customer needs and are brought together and released on time with high quality, and the overall release reflects the best choices amount scope, costs, and time for the company.
  • Having an understanding of Zero down time deployment  (blue / green) deployment to keep the services running 24 x 7 is an added advantage.
  • Release Manager will play a key role in project managing the lifecycle of a release, ensuring they go through appropriate testing and change control prior to releasing it in production. This will involve assisting the technical teams in planning deployment, providing regular communication on the progress of the rollout.   
  • Rel! ease Manager will work closely with stakeholders including application developers, functional SMEs, System Owners, business stakeholders, SRE, Technology Risk teams, QA team and technology partners, on a number of key activities. These will include the look ahead and how to plan for future releases, establishing and maintaining Release Roadmaps to ensure adequate planning and preparation for future releases.
  • Should liaise with Partner,  SRE, QM teams to ensure UAT plans are reviewed and any regression gaps addressed, and finalize release scope covering risk acceptances. Individual to ensure that before going to production, systems meet supportability requirements, including documentation, runbooks, monitoring, logging, high availability configuration working closely with SRE.
  • Ensure release effectiveness is measured through site availability, mean time to recover and mean time to failure as well as tracking resolution actions through to closure in orde! r to mitigate production risk.
  • In addition, responsible for w rking closely with SDLC engineering teams to develop and enhance automation capabilities that address the need to ensure deployment automation, zero downtime, ability to patch hotfixes quickly.
  • Experience with Vendor release management is also essential as relates to software and infrastructure capabilities.
