The Renewable Power Group (“RPG") is a rapidly growing team which invests client capital in clean energy assets, including solar, storage and wind. The team sits within Goldman Sachs Asset Management (“GSAM”) Credit Alternatives, a boutique investment platform with greater than $10 billion of investable capital. RPG benefits from an experienced team of industry veterans and significant financial backing which has resulted in meaningful growth since the team was founded in 2017. We have long term plans to be among the world’s largest owners and operators of clean energy assets.



Role and Responsibilities:

  • Performs the detail work of tax equity and debt structuring across the platform for existing tax equity programs
  • Works closely with both internal and external parties to facilitate the accurate and timely closing of each transaction. Direct collaboration with financing counterparties, independent engineers, developers, insurers, appraisers, and consultants
  • Supports the negotiation of complex financial documents through analysis of various terms within many different agreements
  • Measures the impact of proposed financial terms, run sensitivities of financial models accounting for all perceived risks, and provide language to legal agreements that accurately reflects the transaction
  • Must have understanding of how cash moves between legal entities and understand the potential tax consequences that result
  • Completes special projects as needed with FP&A and the Investment Team

Skills and Experience

  • Self-starter
  • Understanding of tax equity investments, GAAP accounting concepts, tax capital accounts, and investment basis a plus
  • BA/BS degree required, preferably in Finance, Economics, or a similarly quantitative / analytical field
  • 1-2 years of project finance, renewable energy or tax equity experience desired
