RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

Duties: Associate with Goldman Sachs Services LLC in Dallas, TX. Work at the forefront of designing an innovative threat and security incident management solution for both on premise and cloud solutions. Utilize knowledge of cloud to create incident response methods for potential attacks and security risks in the cloud. Investigate and analyze existing cloud structures and create new and enhanced security methods that will enhance the security of cloud-based environments. Collaborate with team to employ cloud-based detections for safeguarding cloud environments. Communicate with application owners and other Information Security teams on information security controls regarding data in the cloud. Decipher attack motivations and techniques by correlating threat data from various sources to complete a comprehensive picture of potential cyber-attacks. Analyze potential infrastructure security incidents to determine if incident qualifies as a legitimate security breach. Perform network incident investigations, determining the cause of the security incident and preserving evidence for potential legal action. Initiate escalation procedures to counteract potential threats/vulnerabilities. Utilize expert level knowledge of Linux or Windows Operating Systems to appropriately inform and advise management on incidents prevention and response. Document and conform to processes related to security monitoring. Participate in a 24x7 coverage model to prevent and re-mediate security threats against the Firm's global business network. Utilize understanding of threats to create incident response and response automation strategies. Utilize solid knowledge of computer systems, networks and common protocols to perform analysis of network packets and network forensics. Analyze network traffic, network logs and endpoint artifacts. Enable a world-class cyber defense program by working closely with other technical, incident management, and forensic personnel to develop a fuller understanding of activity of cyber threat actors.

 

Job Requirements: Bachelor’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Information Systems, Computer Science, Cyber Security, or a field related to the financial industry such as Business Administration, Business or Finance. Minimum three (3) years of experience in the job offered or a related field. Prior work experience must include two (2) years of experience with: Performing root cause analysis and complex investigations in a corporate environment; Writing and updating technical playbooks and presenting to stakeholders; Leveraging Linux or Windows Operating Systems to appropriately inform and advise management on incidents prevention and response; and Gathering data from various sources and using that data to understand or identify the cause of breaches or gaps in data. Prior experience must include six (6) months of experience with:  Deciphering attack motivations and techniques by correlating threat data from various sources to complete a comprehensive picture of potential cyber-attacks; Analyzing cyber security threat actors’ tactics, techniques and procedures utilizing the Mitre ATT & CK framework; and Working within a SIEM platform to triage and manage Security Incidents, and to perform analytics using the SIEM datasets.
