Led by the firm’s first Chief Marketing Officer, the marketing function at Goldman Sachs is backed by momentum and a broad imperative to unify the discipline, helping to codify a business-critical function seen as core to the firm’s future growth. As such, GS is focused on building out a data-and-technology enabled team of growth marketers, delivering value for the brand and the business. The organization will consist of COE teams including Brand Marketing, Marketing Strategy & Transformation, Content, and Media, as well marketing teams for each of our revenue divisions. Together, this function will collaborate to build a unified, scalable, and consistent approach to marketing the brand and its offerings. Our mission is to be a demonstrable force multiplier for the businesses we serve.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

Job Summary:

We are looking for a strong, self-directed leader with expertise in social media and a record of success in building communities and engagement on social media for large brands. This role is highly collaborative and leads a team of social media specialists. The social media team is part of the Marcus by Goldman Sachs integrated marketing team; we grow the brand positioning, messaging and awareness of the Marcus by Goldman Sachs brand.

 

Responsibilities:   

  • Lead the Marcus by Goldman Sachs social media strategy across all major platforms.
  • Drive the creation of compelling social media content while leveraging the expertise of both internal and external influencers.
  • Work closely with key stakeholders to translate business and brand objectives into social strategy.
  • Protect and enhance the Marcus brand through content development as well as PR/timely news by serving up opportunistic content across Marcus social media channels
  • Develop a deep understanding of the Marcus by Goldman Sachs brand voice and tone
  • Oversee the creative development process of social assets from beginning to end; work with both agencies as well as internal design and creative services teams. Collaborate with community management and social ops teams.
  • Work with agency and social media team to develop a monthly social media editorial calendar that communicates the various initiatives, product launches and other brand messages across various lines of business in support of the brand with the ultimate goal of growing social media followers and engagement.
  • Expertise in using data and industry trends to develop insights that drive social strategy and engage leadership. Familiarity with Sprinklr is desirable but not required.
  • Use of social media to amplify larger integrated brand campaigns; develop and define our social strategy and content pillars of product, brand, financial wellness, and cultural moments.
  • Work closely with legal, compliance and operations partners to develop and execute social media content in process-oriented, compliant manner. Comfort with working in a highly regulated industry.

 Required Skills and Experience:   

  • Bachelor’s degree and 10+ years of experience in social media marketing
  • Strategic thinker, able to contribute to brainstorming, planning, execution
  • Highly independent, self-directed, organized, attention to detail and excellent follow-through required   
  • Proven experience creating tent pole ideas that drive earned media.
  • Expertise working with influencers to amplify social efforts.
  • Experience managing social media platforms (FB, IG, TW, LI, YT at a minimum); fluency in understanding social platforms/appropriate content.
  • Experience working with creative teams and an understanding of the creative process   
  • Analytical mindset, demonstrated knowledge in social media metrics, reporting and analysis
  • Strong judgment and an effective risk manager
  • Proven leadership skills in developing and executing communication campaigns from start to finish   
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal   
  • Strong writing, editing and project management skills
  • Demonstrated service focus (internal and external) and ability to build relationships both internally and externally   
  • Results-oriented -- ability to handle multiple, time-sensitive projects while focusing on the quality of work delivered   
  • Flexibility to work across various projects and with different stakeholders   
  • Experience managing teams
