MORE ABOUT THIS JOB

GOLDMAN SACHS ASSET MANAGEMENT

Goldman Sachs Asset Management (GSAM) is one of the world's leading investment managers. GSAM provides institutional and individual investors with investment and advisory solutions, with strategies spanning asset classes, industries, and geographies.  We help our clients navigate today's dynamic markets, and identify the opportunities that shape their portfolios and long-term investment goals. We extend these global capabilities to the world's leading pension plans, sovereign wealth funds, central banks, insurance companies, financial institutions, endowments, foundations, individuals and family offices.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

YOUR IMPACT

Goldman Sachs Asset Management is focused on building the next generation of retirement solutions to meet growing Sponsor and Participant demand within the retirement market. We are focused on a comprehensive retirement solution where a working knowledge of OCIO, Managed Accounts, recordkeeping services and digital financial wellness across a range of investor types will be helpful as we contemplate our own bundled product in the Defined Contribution market.

The Multi-Asset Solutions team, which manages over $150bn in multi-asset solutions including GS Target Date Portfolios, Model Portfolios and a suite of risk-based mutual funds, is seeking a product manager who will hold a tremendous responsibility in forming the strategic vision for our retirement products, and work with multiple teams to execute our product plans. As a product manager you will collaborate with key stakeholders across Sales, Marketing and Portfolio Management to enhance, prioritize and build the product strategy for a differentiated retirement platform.

In this role, you will drive the strategy and development process to deliver compelling features and functionality while identifying and measuring key metrics to ensure a best in class customer experience for both retirement plan sponsors and plan participants.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Inform and drive the "big picture" strategy while also rolling up your sleeves and being an individual contributor on specific workstreams and projects
  • Evaluate new product and market opportunities based on the competitive landscape, industry trends, and evolving retirement needs
  • Build trusted relationships with our sales, marketing, portfolio management and other external teams to develop and launch easy-to-use products and features to assemble a compelling package for smaller defined contribution plans
  • Collaborate with the Marketing team to develop sales content and branding, including product pitchbooks
  • Work closely with the Sales Specialists to strategize on Advisor and Plan Sponsor opportunities, and participate as a subject matter expert in certain sales scenarios
  • Continuously leverage data and customer feedback to identify both problem areas and strategic opportunities
  • Develop pricing and fee models based on competitor trends and internal revenue targets
  • Articulate product features, requirements and roadmaps to different audiences (from development teams to program leadership)
  • Coordinate closely with managed account providers and record keepers to expand product opportunities based on the competitive landscape, industry trends and evolving retirement needs; identify and respond to new opportunities and serve as a go-to expert in the retirement space

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 7+ years of product management or related experience
  • Experience in the Defined Contribution space, including but not limited to familiarity with record keepers, Target Date Funds and other plan service providers
  • Experience delivering differentiated consumer products in the retirement planning and financial wellness space
  • Analytical aptitude to strategize advice methodology and portfolio construction processes for the Managed Account
  • Highly adaptable and flexible skillset; comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with frequent change
  • Proven track record of delivering complex, high-quality products at scale; desire to work in a fast-paced environment adhering to strict deadlines and evolving priorities
  • Ability to work in a highly collaborative environment with heavy emphasis on teamwork
  • Excellent attention to detail and communication / presentation skills
  • Self-motivated and proactive team player who takes ownership of and accountability for projects
  • Strong organizational skills with an ability to effectively manage competing priorities
