MORE ABOUT THIS JOB

Goldman Sachs Asset Management Division (AMD) is one of the world’s leading asset managers and provides investment management solutions across all major asset classes, industries and geographies to a diverse set of institutional and individual clients.  We help our clients navigate today’s dynamic markets, and identify the opportunities that shape their portfolios and long-term investment goals.  We extend these global capabilities to the world’s leading pension plans, sovereign wealth funds, central banks, insurance companies, financial institutions, endowments, foundations, individuals and family offices.

The Alternative Investments & Manager Selection (AIMS) Group

The Alternative Investments & Manager Selection (AIMS) Group resides within AMD and is Goldman Sachs' dedicated manager selection business, covering solutions across private equity, real estate, credit/fixed income, ESG integrated strategies, public equity and hedge funds.  We manage globally diversified programs, targeted sector-specific strategies, customized portfolios and a range of advisory services.  Our investors generally access opportunities through new fund commitments, secondary market investments, co-investments, seed capital investments, investment manager equity/ revenue share stakes, or fund-of-fund solutions.  The AIMS Group is one of the world's broadest, deepest and longest-standing "open-architecture" programs, investing or advising on over $250bn.

The AIMS – Opportunistic Co-Investment team specializes in making co-investments with leading alternatives managers across the capital structure in public and private debt and equity, structured finance, leveraged loans, high yield and distressed.  We have an opportunistic investment mandate which allows us to pursue situations that we believe offer the most attractive risk/reward at any given time. We typically aim to hold positions over the medium to long term and seek equity-like returns through investments in a variety of financial instruments across the capital structure. The investment team is primarily composed of fundamental, bottom-up research-driven investors.  The team sources co-investments from external alternative managers that AIMS has a relationship with.  The role is at the Vice President level.

THE ROLE

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to join a growing team in a fast-paced and high performance environment. The successful applicant will work directly with senior members of the Opportunistic Co-Investment team to source and underwrite complex investment transactions and execute deals across various funds, single asset and other bespoke strategies. The successful applicant will challenge and develop his/her technical skills and expand his/her industry network given the broad range of investment processes he/she will be involved in, within a top-tier global financial institution.
