Duties: Vice President with Goldman Sachs & Co. LLC in New York, NY. Responsible for the portfolio management of global equity portfolios for both institutional and individual investors. Core responsibilities include Portfolio management of over 10,000 accounts including facilitating day to day optimizations, performance monitoring, and strategy formulation; Portfolio construction and execution of cash equity and derivative instruments across global markets; Analyzing large data sets and conducting quantitative investment research and portfolio analysis including investment style/sector/regional tilts and sensitivities, client specific customizations, and alternative indexing; Working collaboratively with sales force to understand client investment needs and arrive at customized portfolio construction and implementation solutions for clients with different risk appetites or restrictions; Identifying and assessing investment theses and opportunities, key issues/debates, risks, valuation scenarios and implications of investment decisions. Assessing the value of investment given macroeconomic drivers, industry trends, and company fundamentals; Synthesizing and presenting research analysis, recommendations, and implications of investment decisions for clients and senior leaders; Researching improvements to enhance business platform and infrastructure buildouts through collaboration with Technologists and Strategists.
Job Requirements: Master’s or Bachelor’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Mathematics, Financial Engineering, or a related quantitative or Engineering discipline; Requires two (2) years of experience with a Master’s degree or five (5) years of experience with a Bachelor’s degree in the job offered or in a related quantitative role. Prior experience must include two (2) years of experience with a Master’s degree or five (5) years of experience with a Bachelor’s degree with Modern portfolio theory to engage in portfolio construction process and to understand portfolio risk and return profiles; Quantitative investing, equity markets, financial derivatives pricing for common products (e.g., futures, options), and finance in general; Identifying and assessing investment theses and opportunities, key issues/debates, risks, valuation scenarios and implications of investment decisions; Producing quantitative strategy presentations to present complex technical concepts and quantitative portfolio and risk management topics; Programming utilizing Matlab and Unix; and Understanding of statistics, linear algebra, asset pricing models, optimization techniques, computer science or other STEM areas. Must possess FINRA Series 7 and Series 63. Travel required approximately 10% of the time to participate in meetings aimed at providing education on tax aware equity strategies with internal and external clients.
