Goldman Sachs Private Wealth Management (PWM) specializes in creating comprehensive wealth management plans for high net worth individuals and families, as well as select institutions, including foundations and endowments. PWM Teams work one-on-one with clients to advise and deliver customized strategies drawn from our deep investment experience, diverse wealth management capabilities and global reach. Our Private Wealth Advisors (PWAs) deliver an unparalleled investment platform inclusive of the full product and service offerings of Goldman Sachs and beyond, which may include tax and estate planning, philanthropic planning and private banking and lending services. As client needs evolve, this close relationship allows the team to offer complementary services and new opportunities by leveraging the resources of Goldman Sachs and beyond.

 

JOB DESCRIPTION

APEX

Apex is the dedicated team in the Consumer and Wealth Management Division that covers institutionalized family offices, with dedicated coverage of approximately 500 family offices globally.  Deal flow is a key component to the offering as the team has built the Apex brand on differentiated investment access with a focus on bespoke direct private transactions and other unique investment opportunities. The team has already raised a significant amount of capital in private investments and institutional family offices are increasingly important to our broader One GS efforts.

Apex works in coordination with PWAs to develop strong ties with family offices and deliver the full investment platform of the Firm, but with a focus on direct private deals across asset classes. The offering provided by Apex is cross divisional, enabling family office clients access to a broader suite of opportunities originating from the Investment Banking, Asset Management and Global Markets Divisions, in addition to Consumer and Wealth platform.

Apex is in search of a Vice President to help build out the platform, source and champion differentiated investment opportunities across asset classes and deal structures, with emphasis on private and growth equity, venture capital, structured credit and real estate. We are looking for a hard-working, organized and client-friendly individual who will be able to utilize expertise in private markets to drive client conversations and facilitate deal execution while also expanding on firmwide partnerships with Private Wealth Advisors (PWAs) and other divisional partners.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

Responsibilities May Include 

  • Develop connectivity within the Firm t source and deliver differentiated and bespoke private equity, fixed income and alternative investment products to clients
  • Champion select investments through due diligence, committee and review processes internally
  • Participate in structuring and negotiating terms and investments
  • Direct client and PWA coverage responsibilities on an on-going basis
  • Communicate investment opportunities with sales teams and directly to Apex clients
  • Work closely on business development initiatives including managing client-related events, spearheading product development, improving sourcing channels, and creating scalable solutions 

     
    Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated orientation toward and interest in understanding financial markets with at least 5 years of relevant industry experience; preferably related to investment banking, private or growth equity, structured credit or illiquid public investments
  • Demonstrated history of commercial prowess and success
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and desire to work in a team-oriented environment
  • Ability to excel in an unstructured, entrepreneurial, business building mode of a new business
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and think clearly under pressure
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Series 7 and 63 preferred but not required
